Yes because COD was the first to do modern warfare games.

While I'm not sure what was first i do know that their was a first person battlefield game on the ps2 in modern day before this gen was out. I got your back Nightsurge

I think Battlefield 2: Modern Combat was the first PC and Console to use that type of naming convention. PC version released in 2005 and Console version (which was WAAAAAAYYYY different) came out a year or so later.

As I've said before, there doesn't exist a feature on CoD or MoH that Battlefield has done and done better. Except removal of features, CoD is reigning king of that.

However, before BF2 I'm sure there were other FPS games centered on a more modern combat system, I didn't play them as I'm sure they weren't as good as BF1942 that I played before BF2.
