Obviously Dead Space Extraction was not the success that EA had hoped for (why that is, is a different topic, don't discuss it here). And with both Sony and Microsoft introducing motion controls of their own, a port for the PS360 would be what is also known as "easy money". Here is why:
- Engine is already in place from the first Dead Space, possibly an upgraded one could be used as Dead Space 2 is in development.
- Sound assets are already done.
- Many graphical assets are already done, and those that aren't won't take long to upgrade to HD standards.
- Controls should carry over very easily (Wand solution is obvious, for Natal, I'd love to see the "controller" being your hand in the good old gun-form we all know from our childhoods).
To me, it's not so much if we will see it, more about when. Simultaneous release on both platforms when Natal releases in late 2010? Or will a PS3 version be released earlier, while the 360 version waits for Natal to be released?
