Forums - Gaming - Dead Space Extraction HD?

Obviously Dead Space Extraction was not the success that EA had hoped for (why that is, is a different topic, don't discuss it here). And with both Sony and Microsoft introducing motion controls of their own, a port for the PS360 would be what is also known as "easy money". Here is why:

  • Engine is already in place from the first Dead Space, possibly an upgraded one could be used as Dead Space 2 is in development.
  • Sound assets are already done.
  • Many graphical assets are already done, and those that aren't won't take long to upgrade to HD standards.
  • Controls should carry over very easily (Wand solution is obvious, for Natal, I'd love to see the "controller" being your hand in the good old gun-form we all know from our childhoods).

To me, it's not so much if we will see it, more about when. Simultaneous release on both platforms when Natal releases in late 2010? Or will a PS3 version be released earlier, while the 360 version waits for Natal to be released?

As long as it is not a rail shooter.

Sure why not. It'd be like Chinatown Wars all over again.

Would it even be worth a rental? :-/

I think most people would rather just buy DS2.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

A PS2 port would b much easier money since it's not HD, and EA could start making profits on it @ 5k or maybe less, but I'd buy Extraction on PS3, so go ahead, EA!

Err... I'd say the opposite. Making them for HD would be almost like making them from scratch. The opposite process should be easier of course.

for Natal, I'd love to see the "controller" being your hand in the good old gun-form we all know from our childhoods.

I don't think Natal can do that... at least they haven't shown anything like that.

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

I don't know. My guess is that EA wants to forget about it as quickly as possible.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I hope so. I would buy it. It would actually give me a reason to buy that dild... wand.

Screw the wand and the wiimote!!!! Why can't it just support Guncon 3? It's a fukkin' on rail shooter, damn it!!!

Well, as far as I have seen, most of the enemies and maps can be pulled straight from the first game, and upgrading assets are easier than starting from scratch as far as I am aware.

And I don't know if Natal can do that, but it would be awesome
