Forums - Nintendo - 10. 0 Review for Super Mario Galaxy

Gravity effects: Not the same with R&C. The game in certain points lets you float in the air, unlike R&C.

Multiple spheroids: I've played EVERY R&C game. The planets are displayed as spheres but in the actual level they are flat like every other platformer minus SMG.

Instant Camera: Of course 2D platformers don't allow you to control the camera because there can't be different angles, we're talking about a 3D game here.

Two player control: I can't comment if you don't give any examples.

So yeah, SMG *IS* revolutionary and brings new things on the table.

all 3 of us said pretty much the same things :P

lol...i was too slow, and deleted part of my first answer....i edited it back in though.

Griffin, you're wrong. You need to incorporated a little abstraction into your thought process.

Ok children can u stop bickering... anyways has it mentioned anywhere how long the game takes to beat i haven't seen anyone even mention this............... thank you in advance...

Around the Network

noone has beaten the game yet (100%), well, not that the internetland knows of .. however, to just clock the game (blasphemy) i think it was about 20hrs or something like that

"How long is it expected to last hardcore gamers?
Took me around 8 or 9 hours to complete it with 60 stars, 17-18 or so for 120. But bear in mind I'd played the demo levels to death previously and knew the first couple of hours' worth inside out before starting, so I just sped through those without having to explore too much.

Same question, but for casual gamers.
It'll be a challenge for casual gamers. It's a bit like New Super Mario Bros in that it's great fun but never frustratingly difficult for hardcore gamers, but casual gamers will find it quite difficult.

How far into the game are you (e.g 50%,75%)?
100%. "

Some 2d games let you peer back and forth using the shoulder buttons on the SNES. I beleive some genesis games let you do that too. That is rudimetry camera control. Most camera control today is the silent type(Z targeting/allign behind the character) or the full control type WoW.

And i'm already at 15 stars :'(

I'm only posting here to say that these Ratchet & Clank comparisons are totally bonkers.

And that I added another nemesis to the list of nemeses in my sig.
