woo, looks amazing. I cant w8 for Mario to come out in the UK!

Not to be a douche, but I believe it deserves to be said: Super Mario Sunshine got plenty of 10s too, but it seems that some(or many) didn't like it much. Anyway, the point is the reviews with a Mario game don't mean much because you know they will be high, and you know the game will sell millions. FF is in this same boat. How many of you liked FFXII even with all its great reviews?

Super Mario Galaxy is such a letdown. It brings nothing new to platforming. After playing it seems clear that it's all a bunch of "been there, done that" rolled into one slick package, but all shine and little substance leave the player wanting so much more. Miyamoto truly seems to have run out of ideas. Take for instance this one example: Mario is still wearing the same clothes from 1985! Where is the character progression? The plot is nearly non-existent and what threadbare shreds there are seem to be an almost total retread of the tired "save the princess" formula. In a more modern vein, why is there no multi-player support? It's the 21st century Nintendo! For this and many other major flaws I have to give this game a 7.5/10. I blame Wii Fit.

Despite what people say Super MarioSunshine was actually a really good game, it just wasn't your typical Mario game.  Most of the people that complain about the game never actually played it and are just in general sheep.

man thats classic you should do stand up with comedy like that

Double post, sorry

Question: What going to make this game special? Like ive seen gameplay videos and what not, but it still seems much like Mario 64 with improved graphics and alot of spherical environments. I'm not trying to hate on Nintendo, Super Mario is literally one of my favorite franchises, I still even play through Mario 64 every now and again. Its just I havent really enjoyed any iteration really since Mario 64, and I'm kind of wondering whats going to make this game so great? Like i hear a lot of "the New Mario 64" with this game, but i dont understand whats the hype all about yet.

Could anyone explain? Theres got to be some Wiiboys here that can explain it in a very unbiased, objective (rather then emotional "Cuz its going to be awesome, thats why!!" sort of way) manner.

Prlatino there has only been one mario game since the release of Mario 64. personaly I disdained that game from the start (mario on an airplane? Talking waterpacks?) so I never played i again it didn't feel like a Mario game to me. Galaxy and since I have not played it appears to have a lot of the 64 elements but much more varied. The thing that itnterests me is that when I see thsi game I am not thinking innovative I am thinking this is going to be like SM3 to SMB. It is going to be a complete expansion and the power ups are the main cause of this. While most mario games have been great some stand out more than other like SM3 and SM64. Hmm Conspiracy theory time

SMB Classic
SM2 panned(though fun game)
SM3 Classic
SM4 good game but not SM3
SM64 Classic
SMS Craptastic
SMG Classic?
