LOL. I was 12 when this came out and I had no idea what JRPG's were about. Since VII got 10/10 from OPM and VIII got 10/10, I decided to give it a rent.

How stupid must you be to rent a FF title. I was like WTF!? Turn-based combat!? I DON'T GET THIS!!!

But then when my launch-PS2 broke I got a platinum version of the game (I was more clued up then) and had a great time. I loved the story and I loved the music. It was a tad drawn-out though (being on FOUR discs).

I wish I could support the thread, but I just don't have another 50hours to play a PSOne title at the moment.

Damn you all! Final Fantasy VIII is my second most favourite game ever! I'd love to pop it in again to beat it, but as Perpride said, no time for it. Can we wait and do this in the summer when everyone is done Final Fantasy XIII?

@Darkknightkryta, you don't have an hour or two a day to play this? And when FFXIII comes out it'll be playing it till probably the end of 2010.
