I hope there are still a lot of side quests and plenty to do

The time left is certainly manageable. DAO will keep me going for a while (plus MW 2 and FIFA 10 online), then games for Christmas, ME 2 in Jan, Napoleon Total War in Feb, then XIII in March, the wait for Red Dead Redemption is harder
How long did it take you to beat other Final Fantasy main titles?
In my first playthrough with some sidequests it took me:
- Final Fantasy VII --- 35 hours.
- Final Fantasy IX --- 43 hours.
- Final Fantasy X --- 60 hours.
- Final Fantasy XII --- 75 hours.

You read my mind.
4 ≈ One
Well, i hope this is not counting the grinding.
Anyway, FF mix pretty well both casual and hardcore playing. If you just want to finish them main quest and get ok characters, pretty easy, just the encounter when moving to an area to another is enough. If you want to make 100%, get the special weapons, kill the weapons, go for the secret bosses and etc. just get prepared for hours of grinding.

Well at least you have a release date to look forward to now. Even if it is a few months away it's infinitely better than TBA 2010, or even worse, simply TBA.

Good, that's what they usually say. Hopefully it's like FF X:
40 to beat the story, 200+ to 100%.
i feel like cartman in south park when he froze himself to make time go by faster to get his nintendo wii.
I need always 150-190 hours to solve everything in FF. To beat every oponent to get all things to see everything. For the main story I dont need much time. But I am trying to solve everything in the first attempt. That takes a lot of time so I dont know how long exactly I would need to run through the game.
50-60 hours is ok i guess but i am always sad if I finished FF. I think they could really expand the content I wouldnt mind it if the main quest would be 100 hours and to solve the complete game 200 hours more.
Good games are always to short and bad games are always to long.
