The boxart is nice tho its plain (but thats how majority of FF game covers are worldwide) I wish they put more work into it tho and more background. I know for NA FF covers they're always more colourful and takes up the whole page leaving no blank. FFX was nice having Tidus in the cool water, FFXII had a wonderful artwork cover.

Amazing games should have amazing covers and the picture of Lightning seems so recycled like we've seen that pic since Square introduced Lighting. I hope the NA cover will be more colourful.

I liked older boxarts more; Just the logo by itself on the box was too epic. They just wanted to "spice it up" to appeal to the "hardcore" crowd that hasn't played a FF game before.

Well, i think they are just trying to reproduce Final Fantasy VII success:

Only Cloud is on the cover, he is looking away from us, sightseeing a misterious place (Shinra building). On Final Fantasy XIII Europe's cover Lightning is looking up something we don't see. It is more abstract and inviting to know more.
