Nintendo: Wii Sales Up 85% Since Price Cut

You may think that Wii sales are on the way down, down, down, but don't tell that to Nintendo! No, according to internal numbers, since the console dropped to $199 things have never better.

Nintendo of America's executive vice president of sales and marketing, Cammie Dunaway, says that since the Wii was knocked down from $249 to $199, sales are up 85% on a week-to-week basis.

Of course, since we only get monthly figures it's hard to pinpoint how sales were the week before the price cut, so this is just something we're going to have to take her word on.

I'd say the price cut had a very positive effect.

Around the Network

It did, but i cant see the Wii reaching DS status, especially since competition is much tougher in the consoles market. But its still tracking ahead of PS2 which is what people tend to forget about, and that enough is enormous

Sounds like momentum!
