OT:  I like getting trophies if they're not too difficult or dont rely on alot on online playing/levelling up.  It also brings more replay value so making our hard earned money worth it.

Only if it was the chick from Battletech for the Sega Genesis. I love the way she says "coolant." It causes me to overheat every time.

I've never played Battletech so im not familiar with that coolant voice lol.  I prefer a chime over a female voice to indicate that i got a trophy as well, but not for orgasmic purpose lol

I think it'd be cool if the PS3 gave us the option to pick whatever sound we want to use for like getting a trophy, signing in, getting msgs, etc.  Similar to how you can do that on a PC =P

Also forgot to mention that I would only go for the Platinum if I really like the game. So far I've platinumed Burnout, RE5, Prince of Persia, Killzone2, Uncharted 2 and inFamous. Plan to get the Platinums for Tekken6, Demon's Souls and Disgaea3 at some point.

I'm not usually victim to the shiny effect, but trophies (and achievements) are shiny to me, so I must have them. It's a completionist thing, ever since Pokemon really, gotta catch em all right?

Too bad I have WAYY too many games to 100%

It just fun to collect them, they are a sense of accomplishment, and they add replayability. I have actually gone back to play old games just to get easy trophies I missed.

its not that i wont play a game without trophies its just trophies make games that don't have extra replayability to have one.

As my sig implies, I like to show em off.  It's not like you get to brag about the size of your... trophy collection everyday right?  Plus I like the satisfaction of making lesser skilled gamers think, that guy has such a huge... trophy collection, he must have lots of chicks wanting to suck his gigantic... trophy collection.  Yeah that does it for me alright.  It's definitely not fun killing Lazarovich in UC2 at crushing it made me curse the hell out of my TV screen, that goddam motherfucker.

It just gives you something else to accomplish. If I really love a game but have already "Defeated" it, then it gives me some other goals to accomplish. I'm spending a crap load of time in Demon's Souls right now....probably won't get the platinum, but I just enjoy the game so much I want to keep playing it. This gives a new goal.
