Forums - Sony - Heavy rain early impressions "tedious"?

Gameplay videos DO look tedious and boring, no action happening at all, so I don't think ONM is biased. Remember they all work in the same place, for the same company, so it's not like they hold personal grudge against a game from other team's "to be reviewed" pool.

Well I'm glad Nintendo Magazine said this

... I do think it looks tedious and have for quite some time. Am I the only one?

Heavy Rain - finally a game about things i do every morning, GOTY 2010 lulz.

i think i am more skilled in real life than in the game - i shave and take a dump in less than 15 minutes, Heavy Rain is casualz confirmed(i knew that long time ago since it's basically interactive movie).

you try to catch a serial killer every morning?

good going detective sherlok holmes

no but i shave and take a dump.

Heavy Rain isn't a game for everyone. We know this already. I don't think anyone who's been looking forward to it will be put off by these comments.

Of course there isn't much action, it's a point and click adventure game done with a controller.  Does ONM hate that entire genre?

It's basically an adverture game, like a next gen version of old point and click stuff. Of course it's going to be tedius if you don't know what you're doing. The whole point is to figure out what's going on and how to progress.

I remember in Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis, I was stuck in a room for a good hour because I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do. That doesn't make it tedius, that makes it a good puzzle.

I really hate when reviewers rag on games for being what they are supposed to be. Just because it isn't your cup of tea doesn't mean it's bad.

No. You're probably in the majority.

It's interactive movie. The main draw is the story, which, from what I've seen, offers more choices and different outcomes than any other game before it. And of course the photorealistic graphics.

It's definitely a unique and interesting game but like I said, not everyone will "get" it. Just like MGS.
