And all of a sudden the natives are the oppressed miniority and the old culture is gone. History has shown this time and time and time again.
I can't understand how all you saints are unable to see it. |
America is going to be a majority Latino country in a few decades and I don't see this country's culture falling apart at the seams. In fact, we're already coming close to a non-majority culture already... some states like California already are that way.
I don't see anyone rioting in the streets of Los Angeles... unless the Lakers win a championship, that is.

First of all, the USA is nothing to strive for, from a European perspective. You're a melting pot, and got already big problems with sub-cultures and minorities. The atmosphere in the US big cities is nothing to strive for, with neighborhoods that are unsafe for white people to visit.
But you were built on the concept of immigration, so it's different. You are a lot more adapted to it. You are a lot better at integrating other cultures. And luckily you have a very strong and protective Police.
Second, Latinos aren't moslems.

I love the "with neighborhoods that are unsafe for white people to visit". Have you ever been to one of these neighborhoods? I have, many times and I'm the whitest motherfucker on the planet. I've driven through South Central and while it's not a place I want to visit at 3am, there are loads of places like that all over the world. During the day, the "danger" is so blown out of proportion that it's silly. Just a few days ago I was driving through the Birmingham and Memphis "ghettos" (which I had been warned I'd be jacked if I entered) with no fear of anything. Totally mundane. Inner cities in America are portrayed to be this war-like zone and I assure you, that is not even close to being true.
You make a point about America being a melting pot and it's a valid one but in conjunction with that, I do not understand your first statement of "the USA is nothing to strive for". Wait, so we've adapted and integrated multiple cultures, the law (generally) doesn't infringe on the rights of these cultures, yet that's nothing to strive for?
Latinos aren't Moslems but there is a significant Moslem and Jewish population in Los Angeles... yet I don't see a single lawmaker advocating the banning of religious practices such as minarets or burkas. Why is that? Why is it so bloody hard to accept that people of different cultures will have differing practices and just respect that? Everywhere I visited on the west coast of the US does a pretty good job of getting along with one another... unfortunately, I wish the same could be said of the Midwest but that's another argument entirely.
