New Super Mario Bros Wii is a awesome game, but its just too short (beat it in 2 days)!! I'll take a long 3D Mario over another short 2D Mario game every time!!

I hardly believe you wont all the levels and got all the coins, and even if you did, i assure you 2D Marios are always fill of secrets that keep making them fun even after a 100 gameplays, not to mention the insane multiplayer

Took 2 days to beat the game and an additonal 2 days to get all of the coins!  I agree I will get plenty more use out of the game both with multiplayer and playing through it again, but I just like Galaxy better!  Now if we can get a new 2D Mario game every year I would be okay with that!!

I'll vote 2d because of SMB1,2,lost level,3,world,world 2 and NSMBWii.

I still think mario galaxy and 64 are masterpieces but my 2d platforming childhood win.

Good luck with your operation!

I prefer 2d Mario, although Mario 64 and Galaxy are awesome, I think they become a bit repetitive.

I love both for different reasons.

I prefer Galaxy more than NSMBWii, I suppose, because it lasted longer.

Pixel Art can be fun.

If you are good you can beat pretty much any 2D mario in under 30 minutes and that isn't really all that hard, but it does take a lot of skill and knowing what you are doing.

Besides, I've already logged 40 hours of NSMBWii, and I'm sure I'll log another couple hundred more. I can't say Galaxy lasted that long.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

asking me that question is like asking which of my two kids i would save.

my answer would be the same. i would rather both of them end then just one of them. i would be saddened by losing them both, but i'd be more saddened having one left to remind me every day.

it's how i felt for over a decade until now (thanks to nsmb wii) and i can't go through that again.

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=76669&page=1

you can view a few screenshots from the game in my photo album here; http://www.vgchartz.com/photos/album.php?album=2312

yes, this is vonboy's alt account. i can't log into my original account, and i'm not sure if i will ever be able to.

NSMB is great but Galaxy was a masterpeice. I consider those the best examples of 2D and 3D Mario platformers respectively.

2D Mario's are short and ugly and have the same damn levels and music every time. The gameplay hasn't evolved in 20 years. Really, if you've played one you've played them all. 3D Mario is an easy choice for me.

2-D Mario.

As much as I like Galaxy for its epic atmosphere and unique gameplay, nothing can beat the charming addictive gameplay of the oldschool 2-D Mario games, especially Mario 3 and Mario World. Mario 64 comes pretty close though.

MASSIVE COMEBACK BY 2D MARIO!!!

Its really a question about fun factor vs wow factor.

As for NSMBWii, You're seldom gonna sit down and say wow! that was a really neat touch, or wow! why have'nt I ever seen that in a videogame before!?

Despite the marvel of Super Mario Galaxy, ive had much more fun playing NSMBWii. Its really hard, couse I kinda want both in my my gaming life.

With NSMBWii, ppl who knew I was a Nintendo fan, would call me after they saw this NSMB commercial and like: "Did you get the new mario game??" And I was like: "wtf? eh..sure"

Ive never had that kinda reaction to a videogame before, except for some early installments of Mario Party.

So if I HAD to choose, I'd choose an innovative, challenging and fun mario experience that was extremely accessible... and that would have to be NSMBWii.
