Forums - Nintendo - Do you think the Final Fantasy MAIN SERIES could come back to Nintendo?

There is no way the series is going "back" technically (i.e. from PS3 to Wii). Maybe spinoffs, other series, FF:CC, etc - but not the main FF series.

I'm sure FFXIII will be a pinnacle of gaming graphically - how it plays, and whether its a good game - no idea.

Well since FF won't be any better with Wiimote (and all RPGs) it'd better stay Sony. As for the question, no FF main series will stay Sony.

dont worry, for every FF main game on PS3
you'll get 10 FF spin-offs on wii

Such as Final Fantasy X Cooking Mama: Grill the Chocobo, Final Fantasy : Nose Training Academy, Rinoa & Princess Peach in Olympics Swimming

Yes, if FF13 fails to sell well on the PS3 FF14 will be a Wii game just to tap the Japanese market.

When I read your post the only think I really noticed was the But and Maybe's. The reason those are there, as we both already know, is that it's highly unlikely (at least in the foreseeable future). Assuming it would return at some point it might actually inject some new creativity in the series (doubtful though).

I think if they had to make do with less movies in the game, they might actually have to work on the "game" itself.

Ahhh, Soriku, I thought you had finally grown up. Never mind then.

Short answer: I find it very unlikely unless Sony were to drop out of the race.

Only if the game completely bombs. The post that said XII wasn't a mediocre game is right, it was an awful boring excuse for a RPG, and mediocre is too kind. Then again, I like difficulty, story, and charecters that make sense in my games. If you don't like or want any of those, it's just a mediocre game then.

I still gotta try XIII though, even if riding Shiva won't be nearly as fun as you'd imagine. As for the future? If dragon quest comes to the Wii and sells some 7 million copies, I wouldn't be shocked to see Square Enix do a little "Hmm" and look at it, but they've got a Sony game to make for now, and do their damndest.

hes 13, lets give him a break

Sky is the limit, only Sales # will determine if SE will make a main series on a nintendo platform or not. if wii's sale # keep up for next 2-3years its a no brainer SE will direct alot of resource to it. we'll have to see how FFXIII plays out and how high the sale # sony will able to boost in the next year or two.

Btw I find FFXII better than IX and X, it offered something truly new and unique to the play mechanic of the game, fun camping those notorious monsters. lets face it the old game got its share of fame, and you cant expect SE keep bring back the same kind of turn base playing style in every new release. for god shake its already on its 13th installment the franchise need some refreshing not the old menu turn base game.

i don't care about FFXIII. to be honest the crystal chronicled action rpg for wii sounds more interesting to me.
sony can keep FF, nintendo can steal kingdom hearts and DQ, or maybe square could make a new chrono game for wii or a new IP.
