Forums - Gaming - possible reasons why mass effect wont come to ps3

Here are some possible reasons why it may not come to ps3.

1 Its possible microsoft still has a deal with bioware over the console version of the game.

2 Its possible microsoft is paying bioware and EA to keep it to 360 and pc but I kinda dought it.

3 This what I think now is possible,I hear microsoft still has control over the console version of ME1 and bioware does not want to release the second one without its original on the platform.Games have still released sequals without the the first one not being on the system like dead rising 2 and saintsrow 2 but those games were not that big on story at least from what we know of from dead rising 2 and bioware cares alot about story and MEs is a big part of it.

What I think is wierd is that why hasnt EA just have an internal team port it to ps3 like they did with Dragon age origins because its also been said that DAO would have only been on pc if werent for EA wanting it on the consoles,so we really dont know the reason why but their must be some kind of road block preventing EA to port ME1 to ps3 and that reason alone might be why it wont come to ps3,what do you guys think?

Fix the wall of text please.

I think the fact that they have repeatedly refused to deny it coming to PS3 and that they say the PS3 is going to be an important platform for them in the future is more convincing evidence that it will come to PS3.

And it wasn't EA porting it, that was the deal with Bayonetta and SEGA. Bioware with Edge of Reason ported it. DA O was the first PlayStation game that Bioware have ever made

Incorrect. They made MDK2 for the PS2 (and Dreamcast and PC).

3DS - 2277 - 6636 - 6675 WiiU - Vectorferret
(Write on wall or PM if adding)

Another reason is that it would totally ruin any sense of immersion if you're playing a sci-fi game on a console that's far more advanced than the technology depicted in said game.

I don't read walls of text.

You can have this, you obviously need it more than I do:

My bad, I have never heard of that game, but their big games haven't come to PS before, no KOTOR, Mass Effect, Jade Empire etc

PS2 couldn't handle KotOR or Jade empire. Those games had some framerate issues on the Xbox, I couldn't imagine them on PS2.

I'm not criticising them and while I am disappointed they did not come to my console (though I just bought KOTOR for £1.75!), it is just a change in strategy and they are now putting their games everywhere, and why not? They have expanded massively, and are currently working on Dragon Age, Mass Effet, SW TOR and an unnanounced new IP so why not get all these onto every platform where possible. I would be very very surprised if we don't see Mass Effect on a PS3
