Damnation!

Warren is sitting at 11 Alignment at level 9. He was actually the one to knock out Gares - I can't believe he didnt' gain any alignment from that! his own alignment must factor into his losses and gains. Looks like Ashe's unit will be sititng out the next mission - or at least I'm going to replace Warren on it.

Also, without me realizing it, my Princess's unit became level 12. On the one hand, awesome! I have my first Shaman, and that's pretty great! On the other hand, I think I better bench this team for a couple of missions.

I don't remember how the alignment worked for this OB, but in OB64 it depended on your alignment vs defeated units alignment as well.  I think there is even some subtle adjustment added based on the strategy you use.  Also in OB64 all the units in a unit would balance out their overal alignment, so putting an evil unit with 4 good units would result in 5 units that would level out slightly above neutral.  If that is still the case, you might be able to continually mix up the supporting characters with Warren to get his alignment up (although I don't remember if this works in OB:MofTBQ).

It is no problem! With noname's permission I will add these to the OP to make sure that they are easier to find from now on.

Fire away.

You are a peach. I will take this as permission to continue to do so for future tips, if you don't mind?

@largedarryl:

Yeah, I remember that. I once brought one of my holiest units down to nearly zero with my Lich. Of course, in another playthrough I had a Lich who was all the way lawful at game's end, which was just as bizarre.

ARGH I MISSED AISHA

Guess I need to go kick Gares in the teeth again, then.

Nice tips. And loads of spoilers too lol.

So, how does alignment works? And why is it important. I think that on my main character it has already dropped to 0 O.o
I have a couple of Ali. but i'm saving those.

Indeed, princess are awesome, altough one of them only has 1 starlite (back) :(

If you make the Princess the leader of her unit, all characters in her unit (including her) get one extra attack.

Alignment determines whether your capture or liberate towns, and affects your reputation, which will affect how some characters react to you.

Oh, also alignment determines what classes other characters can promote to. Like, Knights generaly have high alignment and wizards generally have low alignment.

Also having a low alignment leader affects your reputation. Having a low reputation results in the inability to recruit most characters. In the end having a low reputation will result in the worst ending. That is why most playthroughs you don't want more than 1 or 2 evil teams. You really need to way your options, since stacking up on evil teams will make the game easier, because they are clearly more powerful then lawful groups.

I would actually arge that the good classes are pound for pound better.  The only thing is that the evil groups are overleveled.
