You get a 3 year warranty for RRoD. You shouldn't need any more warranty then that.

What games are you planning to buy?

Actually you do need more warranty , they give you 3 years on rrod, but they have a newer problem called E74 or something like that , its not covered for 3 years. My 360 has E74ed 4 times now, I would say target has a good warranty its 3 years for 25 bucks i think or close to that. If you buy a 360 get a warranty or you will regret it.

The one good thing about getting a warranty locally is that if there is a problem you can just bring it back to the store instead of going through the BS of sending it in to get repaired, waiting and dealing with the customer support especially blows. My boy got red ring and he just brought it back to Best Buy cause he had an extended warranty. I'm never one to go for extended warranties myself but after seeing how effortless it was for him to get a new 360 I'd say it's definitely worth it when buying a new Xbox. I mean it's cool that MS has 3 years for red ring but once you get hooked on all those 360 games you won't want to be without it for the couple of weeks it take to go through the rigamarole of a repair.
I have another friend who swears by Target due to their inexpensive warranties.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Id ask retailers yourself, do some calling around. Personally i got a 5 year warranty when i got mine, this was when they were first out and rrod was not known about. I can't tell you how happy i was i got this. If you buy an X360 you can expect it to fail at least once from my experience and those of my friends.
