Forums - Gaming - The vgchartz ranking game--Prince of Persia!

9.5

Pros:

- Gorgeous
- Great level design, and collecting orbs felt rewarding since some were a challenge
- Battling was a ton of fun, I LOVED stringing combos, and I loved how cinematic it was
- I loved the ending, although I don't know the true ending (gamefly'd it, didn't get to play the DLC)
- Character development is great, only comparable game is Uncharted in my opinion.

Cons:

- For the most part, the game was too easy since it was open world.
- DLC for the ending? Yeah, I'm pretty sure they did that intentionally. Really lame way to rip off your customers. I was planning on buying it until I heard about this.
- I would've enjoyed a little more level variety.

Currently playing: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, NBA2k11, Metal Gear Solid, Picross 3d

8.9. Loved it.

I've been waiting to hammer this one.

Pros:
- Art Style
-Music

Cons:
-Tedious platforming
-Unresponsive controls
-Repetitive enemies
-Uneven voice acting
-Terrible story, they repeat "Ahriman" like a bajillion times
-Light seeds are fucking stupid
-DLC to 100% it
-First game I've never wanted to complete. And I've completed Lair!
-Install
-Often glitches/music skipping/weird load times
-It was free (lent to me by a friend) and I feel ripped off
-Fundamental Error: The game autosaved after the final boss, making it so I would be unable to get a trophy without playing that crap ALL OVER AGAIN

My score: 2/10. Yes, a 2. It only deserves this because of the art style and music. The rest, imo, is trash. Utter shit of a game!

(And yes, I've completed it. Check my trophies. I 60%ed it.)

Finally someone else who has his head screwed on tight! I thought it got a 4 simple because of the graphics but I dind't even know about the DLC since I stopped playing the game after finishing the 2 quarters and I never looked back.

I don't mean to rip your post apart but

Unresponsive controls - They are fine, this has never been brought up anywhere before.

Uneven voice acting -  What does this even mean?  Good voice actors are used.

Light seeds are fucking stupid - This isn't even a reason.

DLC to 100% it - Like every single game with DLC, so isn't a negative for the game, is just part of how PSN/XBL works.  WOuld a be a negative for PSN/XBL, not the game.

First game I've never wanted to complete. And I've completed Lair! - Not a fault with the game.

Often glitches/music skipping/weird load times - There is no loading times it steams entire world as you move through it, clean your disc if music skipping.

It was free (lent to me by a friend) and I feel ripped off - Again no fault with the game.

Fundamental Error: The game autosaved after the final boss, making it so I would be unable to get a trophy without playing that crap ALL OVER AGAIN - The game auto-saves after every important event, if you went through the entire game without making a manual save file to load from that is your fault, not the games.

I hope this isn't gonna be counted, I know I'm hard on most games but I post ligitimate faults.

I gave it a 4/10 and if I honestly knew what they ahd pulled off with the DLC I would have rated it even lower. The game was genuinely trashy except for the graphics, which are quite awesome.

They didn't do anything with the DLC, unless you're suggesting DLC in itself is bad for any game.

I do suggest DLC for any game is bad, but what's even worse is DLC which has direct effect on the main storyline of a game, that's just atrocious. But as I said I gave it a 4/10 even without knowing about that.

Did you gave it 2/10 because of Seece? rofl

Presentation in the game was phenomenal, I liked the anti-hero character of the Prince, and I found myself talking to Elika optionally whenever she had something new to say. I never found the fact that you never die to take away any of the challenge. The same rules apply: If you play poorly it takes you longer to progress through the game. Platforming was a little tricky to get used to but once you practiced it it runned very smoothly. This is one of the best games to come out this generation in many ways.

People complaining that you need to buy the DLC for the "true ending" are crazy. Seriously, go watch the DLC ending on YouTube or something; you'll see that it doesn't tie up any loose ends, and does very little to advance the plot. It feels more like a teaser for the direction the sequel could take than like a true ending. The real ending of the game is the end of the retail game, not the end of the DLC; the DLC ending is horribly anticlimactic in comparison. If a sequel is released, you can skip the DLC for the first game entirely without missing anything important.

Ugh...

maybe a 7/10.

It was not bad, just somewhat uninteresting, with a mediocre story which was written and directed by amateurs, zero challenge, decent level design, mostly decent graphics, though the character models were pretty ugly and stiff up close, i can't remeber the music (it was probably average at best), decent VA though apparenty North's smart ass lines only work in Uncharted as here it all felt way to forced.
