Ahh, now here we have a good example of how posts should not be written.

Just how is it bs what LtNK said? Of all the hit 3rd party games on the hd twins, how many came to the Wii? CoD WAW and MW, which is 2 years behind schedule. How many game sites prior to the release of the Wii already placed the console in last place? Almost all of them, save for a few minor sites.

How many devs decided to make true hardcore games for wii without the "test" issue? 3? 4?

The only one suffering from a poor mentality state here is you. The issue isn't that we have to buy a game for a different console but rather why were we subjected to consoles that aren't the most popular on the market.

At this point it's kind of like devs not making apps for windows, regarding all proportions of course.

Just to give credence to what you said:

Its actually getting a fair share of both good and bad recognition; as well as good and bad bais. Its just these *new* journalists have managed to convince some gamers (usualy new gen), and even some sites (which are not really well known, and are relativley small) that the wii is its own league and wont ever be considerd a serious system. Yet, the wii is mopping the floor with its competitors.

People dont understand and will constantly deny the fact that the *industry* is diyng, regardless of all these hd games selling successfull. They dont understand that nitnendo is trying to replace that lost part of audience with a new generation who will someday become the new core gamers. Everything has to be balanced between keeping the core happy and the new kids on the block entertained but its proven to be a tad difficult.

Erm, aren't these numbers from early this gen? before anybody really thought the Wii would be a hit? At that opoint in time, it wasn't hate, it was what everybody believed (at the time) to be common sense. Nobody really knew the demographics which are very differant from last gen.

Don't forget your helmet there, Master Chief!

Don't you think with 95% of the analysts predicting Nintendo's downfall, the journalists would go along with it?

Look at how religiously they attach themselves to NPD sales.

I've posted all I needed to answer the OP's question in Page 1 and on this page. If the overall Wii hate is not apparent to you, you will never see it, or acknowledge it.

Yeah, early this gen.  Seriously, you have detatched yourself from reality here. The numbers you showed were not only from earlier this gen (before it really took off) they were also predictions. So far, you have only proved that the Wii was grossly underestimated...that my friend is hardly hate. That is just the result of people not understanding the gaming demographics for this gen.

^ok then ironman, explain why everyone is harping over a Wii HD, when its obviously not needed, Wii is still outselling the PS2 at the same time in its life, with fewer price cuts

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

I think the first of all its the Core Gamers the FSP WRPG Lover which buy the magazines and do research on the Web so the target audience for the media is the same as it is for the HD Consoles. The media is LIVING mainly because of the HD Consoles. The people which probably make more then 50% of the Wii consumers are NEW gamers which are not interested in investing much more time in Videogames, And the other 50% well,

Fact is the HD Consoles have the bigger marketshare so ofcourse the focus is mainly on the HD Consoles and Nintendo turned NON Gamers in Gamers with their new strategy. 25 Milllion GC owners have eventually the WII and the rest is just not interested in gaming information. So we have 50% WII Core gamer thats 25 Million and thats just 1/3 of the total audience. So its obvious why the HD Consoles just take more room. And the 3rd party developer just earn more money with the HD Consoles thats the reason why they focus on the HD Consoles.

Is this really new information ? The blue ocean strategy changed the market completly. The Gen before it was not that obvious but this Gen Nintendo aquired a lot of new gamers so the gamers are divided between Casual and Core. I use this terms to describe the difference between the gamers which were added to the market not to differentiate them by the games they play. GC gamers are for me Core gamers too because they are not new.

The Focus will change from HD to Wii in the second the released 3rd party games will be even more succesful then their HD Versions and the people which own the Wii would pay attention to Videogame news. The media is not really biased they are just interested in the same thing the audience is interested in. And as long as 3rd Party games are performing better on HD Consoles AND the audience will act the same way they are now the Focus will be mainly on the HD Consoles.

Wii has opened a new market. And the old one is divided between the Xbox and PS3 and at the moment the classical Console market is the bigger.

^Umm if they earn money on HD, then why are they posting large losses?

i think its cause of the lack of many 3rd party quality titles, if you take all the nintendo made games out of the wii u r left mostly with bad titles, there r excellent 3rd parties titles on wii but most of them are bad
