Forums - Sales - sony paying people to persuade?

lol Best Buy is ridiculous. I asked one of them if I could connect my 360 to a moniter, and he went on to tell me that I needed to buy a new T.V.

Yep.

Sounds strange.

As they are as good as identical (built around the 360's capabilities), graphics also is a pretty weak argument to pursuade. I think better arguments would be free online games vs fees, scratch resistance and RROD.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

@ thread title Sony is paying people to persuade? As in, people to emphasise the strengths of Sony's consoles and the weaknesses competitors, as well as de-emphasise the weaknesses of Sony consoles and the strengths of competitors? Those PR bastards!!

@ The actual OP - that's always a slightly reassuring sight in a game store, sure having fanboys selling you video games isn't ideal, but it's a damn sight better than non gamers selling games. Every time I go into JB HiFi a customers ask an employee about a release date, and I have to tell them the correct/updated release date. gets annoying.

When I bought Modern Warfare for Wii a couple of weeks ago, the guy looked at me in a weird way and said "Wii version? Ah no... those graphics are terrible!"

I responded with "for me, it's about the controls, I don't like dual analog for shooters", to which he responded "but, those graphics man!"

True story, and it was kind of awkard to experience something like that outside of an internet forum.

One more reason to buy things at online stores. Don't have to put up with mentally challenged employees trying to convince you that you need that extra warranty, or that they actually know what they're talking about.

My last similar experience was when buying a light bulb, the guy was trying to convince me that it's not possible to measure lumen intensity of a LED lamp. Of course I just nodded and let him ramble on.
