Forums - Gaming - "Milking" games is not bad!!!!! (i have proof)

Many of you always talk bad about EA. Activision, Koei, and many others because you say that they have too many of the same game.

I dont understand what the big deal is. You have a choice to buy the game so why do you care

if others get it. just because there are tons of dragonballz games or a new sports game every year doesnt mean they are bad.

I dont see what you have to gain from insulting these games. Maybe some people like me enjoy these games so we buy them. I

dont buy all of them every year but once in a while i get one.

The other case is Guitar Hero. THE REASON THERE ARE SO MANY GUITAR HEROES IS BECAUSE PEOPLE WANT MORE SONGS. THere are people who

have guitar hero and play it a lot so of course it would be reasonable to release tons of them so that there is a great variety of songs.

Mainstream games FTW

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... It's in the pudding....

Former something....

well....that's an interesting OPINION

I agree with the OP. I'm never going to by Metallica because I have no interest in Metalica, but I will by a dedicated Beetles version. It's all about choice. The issue is that many gamers feel that each version is being sold directly to them. Even in spite that some gamers would never buy Beetles or songs from the 80's. It's a poor mentality.

Then on the other hand you have had games like Mario Party. Which should probably be released more like the Mario/Zelda platforms. No more than 1 or 2 per generation. Then there's the hypercritical group that are happy to have 4 games per gen. Like Final Fantasy, that span NES, SNES, PS, PS2 4 generations with 12 games spanning them. But not a bat of the eye in regards to being milked. That's not to say that FF fans are hypocritical just the gamers who are happy swallowing numerous iterations then complain about some other game having to many.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

making a lot of games and milking aren't the same thing really. If a series has a lot to say and can stay fresh with yearly, or even twice yearly realeses, more power to the devs. It's when games are just re hashed shit year after year after yeat that you get into the milking. even if you don't do yearly realeses you can still milk a franchise by making garbage games untill anything good about the series is forgotten. That being said i really think the problem carries it's own cure, because when you milk a series you slowly kill off the fan base, until you no longer have one. Just ask Sonic, he knows all about it

Yeah destroying a franchise isnt bad, which is just why GH5 (Prehaps the best one) hasnt even out sold GH3.

so where's this proof you have?

I don't really care if there's 1 million guitar hero games made, I'm just not going to buy them.

@Mao

Exactly, Take L4D for example

Im not gonna keep buying L4D games, even they do have one new weapon or special infected, when it could easly be DLC.
