Forums - Sony - assassin's creed 2 question

Hey Guys, Quick question

I got Assassin's Creed 2 on the 360 and noticed that the worlds shadows (cast from buildings and trees) updates at a very slow frame rate as the sun moved across the sky (maybe 3fps). Does the ps3 version of the game have this problem?

If at first you don't succeed, you fail

no

I didn't notice any Frame Rate issues yet, only played 2 hours of it though lol.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 > Modern Warfare 2

Yes, I thought I noticed something like that (or maybe a different shadow issue) while I was playing the PS3 version today.

the only thing I've noticed in my version of Assassin's Creed(PS3) was when I left my horse half-way on a rock incline and the horse started acting glitchy...*currently rocking the Altiar equipment*

Yep Ive noticed it, Got to say the game is very disappointing overall. Rented it and beat it, glad that I rented it. The graphics are terrible, the game play is boring and repetitive, The story is terrible, the only redeeming quality is running along rooftops and as this is fun for a while, sometimes Ezio for no complete reason while I'm climbing a structure will decide to commit suicide by jumping for the sun (At least I'm guessing that's what hes doing there is nothing else near to jump on)(Also I guess this could be user error but FFS there's nothing near ME!) . I was hoping they would do a revamp for this game but it looks like they chopped out characters from the original and pasted in new characters.

You want to hold/press X at the right times or else he'll decide that he'd rather introduce his face to the ground.

I'm liking the game so far (I just got the memory data 10 trophy before I took it back to the rental store) and it's certainly a step up from the first game. I'm glad that the missions are more varied while the more mundane tasks are side missions and mainly for money and trophies. I'm certainly having more fun with this one compared to the first one and how boring it would get.

yeah the game is leaps and bounds above the first game. Im 30 hours in and only 50% complete cos Im doing absolutly everything before I move on. The roof jumping is better to, it feels as though alot more attention has gone into making rooves easily accessable and usable. Also Ezio jumps further ;)

Well to know the shadows are like that in the ps3 gives me some comfort because I was considering what console to get it on and would be anoyed if I found out I chose the one with a graphical glitch like that!

@Arcane, I had this guy humping ezio betwene a box and a wall because of a glitch. It was humiliating for him to say the least. People were saying stuff like "isnt there a decency law against such things?" it was drawing a crowd. He doesnt talk about it

My worst death jump was on the cross at the top of that church looking building in florence. Its like the highest point in that city, and I was on the very tip of the cross and I pressed the wrong button and off he went, all the way to the ground!

With the big football weekend, I didn't get much of a chance to play it yesterday so I had to make sure I got the most out of it today. I think I was going for like 10 hours before I finally had to take it back, lol.

I haven't seen many other reviews for it, but the Gametrailers review was spot on with the suggestion of upgrading the villa as your first priority. I'm making over 10,000 flourins every 20 minutes, lol.

Shadows are the same on PS3, its probably the ugliest shadows ever made. Shadows a couple of feets from you look good, but the one farther is another thing. You can even see the shadows change from normal to extra pixelated with bad refresh rate by walking a feet closer and then farther.
