So I've had this game for a few months (since it was the project of the month back in March on sourceforge) and I have been thinking of making myself a custom guitar contoller for it. Any other fans ou there?

For those who don't know what it is, it's a freeware game. It's more or less Guitar Hero on Windows/Linux/Mac. The idea is the same, push keys when you are told to according to the song. The basic download is pretty simple however this is where the fact that this is on a PC begins to REALLY show. There are dozens of mods, from making the game look and feel exactly like RockBand/Guitar Hero to the ability to make your own songs. Just about any song you can think of has been added to the game. I mean ANY song. Granted the set up of the sorkes may not match perfectly for some, but even then you can fix that yourself. You can put custom themes to it (so literally you can just rip off the GH/RB themes if you want) and mods that add up to 4 players, drums bass and there is even a preliminary lyrics mode already in there. So that's Frets on Fire, or in shsort, what Guitar Hero would  look like on a PC, and let me tell you, it's fucking glorious and blows it out of the water. That's true, I just liked the fact he had the menu options at the start, I'll post a better video where I can get it all in one package as so as I find it. Also when I get out of class and I can get the audio goig withou getting kicked out.

Ok here's the video I wanted. Keep in mind this is all FREE, also they are working on online-multiplayer and video backgrounds for the next version, which will also be free. The beauty of the PC.

Meh, rythm games suck on PC.

1) You need a 100% solid framerate. Even the most powerful PC's have frame hiccups every now and then because of background processes.

2) You need to play these kind of games with a group in your living room, definitely not behind your desk.

I agree. What's the point of a music game with friends to play with?
