I think the point is that not many people expected it to be ZIPPER working on another project, especially when you take into account the size of MAG. So, yeah, I hope it's SOCOM 4 with some single player campaign and Online Multiplayer done right ... from the start.
Well Slant Six should be finished the new SOCOM on PSP, so I wonder what they would work on if Zipper takes over SOCOM again? Probably more PSP games.

You're missing the point that it is : A - Great developer, B - It's unannounced.
Its how Sony gets around the delaystation tag. Essentially they deny up until the last minute that they officially announced MAG so they can say they announced it 3 days before release. It generally works on people who have 'it does everything' pictures in their signatures.

I would buy SOCOM 4 launch day if it was made by Zipper. Hopefully it would have full single player campaign too.
I love the idea of a new IP but even with Confrontation I feel like I haven't played a real SOCOM this gen.

No but a PS3 only developer planning/developing another game when they have one due out in just 2 months is interesting.
