In the end, the formula is shallow and the experience marred by too many small problems. That said, it is a likable and fun Wii title that merges qualities from the action and RTS genres into a one hybrid genre.

Picked it up today, so far so good, finished the first campaign and played one online match will keep you posted once I finish more

I just gave it a whirl. As a ps2 owner last gen i thought i really missed out on the first battalion wars.

now that the 2nd is out and i have my friend's wii, i decided to give it a go.

I haven't played extensively but here are my main criticisms for the game right now. The voice acting is absolutely awful and annoying. The controls feel tight enough to tell your soldiers what to do, but when it comes time to blast them yourself you get disorientated very easily and it can be pretty frustrating during large battles. Battles are fun but the controls and little things made it much less enjoyable than it could of been.

The voice acting in general is pretty bad. The solar empire acting is god awful.

I don't find much trouble with the battles, you just have to keep your eye on the cursor, once you get it down, the controls provide great speed and precision control

I rented it yesterday and its down right terrible. I dont kno why people defend this game. The graphics need work, the voice overs are terrible with stereotypes thrown everywhere (just because your asain doesn't mean you only know how to speak engrish), and the gameplay is too repetitive for my taste.

IGN reviewed this two days ago? (they gave it an 8 - good, but could have been a lot better).

I can see this "relatively" flunking. Needed to be out months ago to fill one of our release holes - or delayed to next year, with another 6 months of work added.

I actually really enjoy it, the online games are fun, I particularly like co-op mode.

I definitely don't find the gameplay repatative, much less so than any FPS or RTS online game on the market...
