Forums - Sony - Updating My PSP next year!!!

But, I need to know some things.

1st, will the 32GB Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo HX (why in the hell is the name so long?) work on PSP?  And when exactly can I get one, how much do you think it'll cost.

2nd.  Well, no one knows yet, but, will the PSP-4000 have the same size screen as 3000, or not...  If that screen's even a centimeter smaller, I'll just go ahead and get the 3000 model.

3rd.  What are some good games (Keep it small, my PS2 collection was largest with 45 games, with my Genesis second at 30...  I have 6 PSP games, and I want some of them to be digital.  Keep in mind I don't care at all for FPS, way too many of them...

Not sure about the memory stick (however I do know there is an adapter that will let you use two 16gb microSD cards to gain 32gb of storage.)

As for games, the PSP has a really solid collection, knowing the six games you have would help determine which others you might be interested in.

Oh... yeah... they're kinda old..

Patapon (don't like, or play it, though)
Daxter (Play it sometimes)
Power Stone Collection (I never touch it anymore)
Megaman: Maverick Hunter X (Quit playing it after I beat it months ago... with no power ups, armors, or weaknesses)
Megaman Powered up (I generally rotate between this and Tekken 5)
Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection
---
Jumping Flash! (PSone classic)
Jumping Flash! 2 (PSone classic)

I'm not getting Tekken 6 on PSP, because it failed me as a console game. I forgot to mention it, but, PSone classics are also welcome.

There was once a rumor that there was a "PSP-4000", but that was the name of the PSP Go before they named it the PSP Go/PSP-N1000, I bet. I don't think there's going to ba an actual PSP-4000. If you don't want a Go, the 3000 is what you should get.

If that were the case, I'd simply update my PSP this year, and put the 2000 in the drawer... never to be used again.... I know... I'm really against selling game equipment... PSPgo =/= PSP 4000. The 4000 model will have a UMD drive...

Right, well you seem to be missing most of the really good PSP titles.

God of War: Chains of Olympus
Probably the best game on the PSP, while it's a little on the short side (8-9 hours) it still really captures everything that is great about God of War, and graphically it's still the best looking game on the PSP.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Even if you didn't play FFVII this is a really solid game on it's own. It's an action RPG and less like your general turn based JRPG fair. Think of the combat as closer to Kingdom Hearts then Final Fantasy VII, although much of the core concept is still there (in terms of materia and equipment) just implimented differently.

Jeanne d'Arc
My personal favorite RPG on the system, Level 5 did a great job with this game, the combat is some of the best strategy gameplay out there and the plot (a take on Joan of Arc) is really well done. It would be a shame for anyone to miss this game.

Wipeout Pulse
One of the best installments of the Wipeout franchise, and the absolute best racer on the PSP. It's visually beautiful (what Wipeout isn't?) and the PSP controls work (stearing with the L&R is very intuative) really well. I dumped a lot of time into this game.

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
I like Metal Gear Acid, but the gameplay is a far cry from the standard of Metal Gear, Portable Ops however is just that. If you like MGS (how could anyone not like the series) then this is a must play.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy
Don't let the name misslead you, while this game has many role-playing elements, it's a fighter first and foremost. The combat is good, each character has his/her own feel and play style and the role-playing elements (leveling up stats, equipment, summons, etc) add a great amount of depth that you usually don't see in most fighters.

I'm against RPG games.  I don't like how you have to spend so much time with them leveling up, and such.. it's too much of an addictive time waster.  Not like fighters... if you can remember how to play the game properly, and remember your combos, you're good to go.  And, you can always look on youtube for combo help if you know the character so well you can tell all the moves by sight.

That's what I did to get good with Lili in Tekken 5, and Tekken 6.

Metal Gear was on my list, but, I'd forgotten about it.  Last time I went to the store for it, all they had was PO+, and I heard it was bad.....  So, I walked out of the store with Patapon....  I've played none of the GoW games, and honestly, I haven't the slightest intrest in the series.  Krados in SCIV didn't help me to get the PSP version, and I don't care at all for GoWIII.  The other game you'd mentioned.... I'd have to look into it, I guess... I'd just never heard of it before.

I would consider getting Wipeout... I played the demo, and left it on my memory stick until I had to make room for Jumping Flash! 2.  It would be great if I could get Tekken, and Megaman (the ones I play) on my memory stick so I could jump into them whenever I wanted.  I may even re-buy games from PSN.  I just feel better having the hard copy of games, and things would be ever better if I were to have hard and soft copies of them.... But, I need the 32 GB memory stick first....

I've bought Tekken 5 on PS2 twice, once on PSP, and again on PS3.

Well the real strength of the PSP is that many of the RPG developers have really given it support. Outside of them the PSP doesn't have a ton of really strong genres, there are some decent platformers (Ratchet & Clank, Daxter, etc) but if you do like fighters I would really suggest giving Dissidia a try, you might be surprised how deep the fighting mechanics are.

Well, I don't need a ton of games, just the best of the best.... That's why my PS3 collection is so small.

I would just wait for the psp2.
FPS's don't work on the psp (SOCOM is only passable as a third person shooter) and an 8 gig is cheap and enough for me.
Some good games include loco roco, killzone liberation, and basically all other first party games.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.
