I don't think it's an expansion, but I wish it was. I'd rather have the content from both games in one package rather than two separate games.

I am disappointed how much it feels like the original. But that never stopped me from playing all the Call of Duty games. Therefore I look forward to playing L4D2 as well.
You dont have to use fucking idiot as much as you do, it makes you seem...ill just leave it there.
I guess that I'm gonna have to throw out uncharted 2, and halo 3, and NSMBW, and every other sequel that I own that retains it's prequels feel...
If anything all sport games should be expansions and people are just being exploited! But sadly these games still sell every year and that makes my wallet sad! :(

i just dont like the realease date, i dont buy sports games unless they are really innovative, this doesnt fit the bill, if it was 1 and half then i say go for it, but its obvious the dev. didnt work too hard on the game, im not an idiot, the game should have been an expansion >_>

| twesterm said: While I do post this because Sterling generally amuses even though 99% of the stuff he writes is satire, I do find it pretty stupid that so many people are so upset about Left 4 Dead 2. I was actually talking to someone last night and they started talking about Left 4 Dead 2 was sequel. I asked him why and he said we it's pretty much the same game and it came out only a year later! I look at him funny and I asked him what were the differences between Gears and Gears 2 (and I really could have said most any sequel)? He thought about it and said, well not much. I then asked him would he still be mad about the game if it came out two years after L4D rather than one year? He thought for a second, grumbled something, and went somewhere else. So yeah, Left 4 Dead 2 is a sequel and not an expansion. The people that are bitching are just plain idiots. |
Yes well true sequels are different. Look at Diablo and Diablo 2, Half-Life and Half-Life 2, Warcraft 2 and 3, UT99 and UT2004. Expansion packs in the mean time ARE same engine with leftover ideas but added new ones. So I'm fairly sure L4D2 falls in the land of expansion, not true sequel.
Heh most expansions have a longer development cycle. The author just sounds like another Xbot justifying milkage
