Forums - Nintendo - So, RE: Darkside Chronicles is... AMAZING??? :O

I've been playing it since morning, I'm almost at the end, so, here it goes my mini review:

Sound: It's outstanding. From the voicework to the ambience this game is just a blast in a sound perspective.

Gameplay: The camera movement just makes you feel you're into the action. I dare to say that it is an interactive movie, you can shoot stuff all over the place, havok physics hell yeah, the camera action again, is just jaw droping. Very addictive. I spent 7 straight hours playing it first time.

Graphics: Believe it or not. It's the best graphics out there on the Wii now. Shaders on the walls, on the ground, everywhere. Shadowing effects are just outstanding as well as lighting. It's a 360 game in SD.

Value: You'll be definitely coming back for this. Multiple ways, online rankings, "achievments", multiplayer, and again, the camera shakes in a way that makes you feel that you, are, there.

9/10

On a last note, I want to appreciate CAPCOM for this big effort. I wasn't expecting this at all. I had an outstanding pleasure doing the illegal download and stealing money from them, so they won't spend my money developing expensive quality titles for the PS360 and treating the Wii like a cash cow with shovelware, releasing a good title for it once a century.

To finish, I hope the series get more spin-offs like this in the future. I'll download them all, Capcom.

Well, I'm sure that'll encourage them.     Not.

Glad to hear you're loving the game and especially the camera work since that's been critizied by so many reviewers.

I'm not sure I'll get this game since I havn't even played through RE:UC yet but I might pick it up cheap just to add to my collection.

I know... I'm not helping either.

RE6 should be on the Wii, not more rail shooters

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

I am not surprised at all to read that this game is great, but I don't think that it will come close to the sales of Umbrella Chronicles. I hope that Capcom is aware that they can't make another Resident Evil railshooter, because there's simply not enough content left to use for a third game.

Survivor I-III remakes. You heard it here first.

Logic, common sense, reason all gone.

@ soriku

Your post makes perfect sense.

But I'll pay for a legal copy of Darkside Chronicles and that money will be used to invest on PS360 and the Wii is always the underdog inside Capcom. If this game were from SEGA, Marvelous or High Voltage I would proudly have an original copy right now in my hands just like I have No More Heroes, Madworld, Okami and Let's Tap. Have some others Nintendo titles but those I don't need to mention.

Glad to hear Capcom improved on their first attempt at RE rails.

Well, they expect a 40% drop in the sales of the series as a whole with this entry, so they aren't expecting it to surpass RE:UC.

However, 800k still seems like a difficult mark to reach at this point, and Capcom has become notorious for oversetimating the potential sales of their games.

The game has gotten good reviews though, so I hope it sells 1.5 million.

What reviewers can complain about is that sometimes there are some slowdowns in the middle of the action. That added to the shaky camera and blur makes is hard to play. But again, that what makes the game so fscking immersive.

And I'm serious on this: I'm loving more this on-rail shooter than I did RE4 in my old Gamecube.

impressions and reviews have been pretty positive so far. I hated UC, however i might give this game a chance, because it covers my two favorite RE games, CV and RE2. Hope it drops in price soon so i pick this up. Hope this sells, so more ON Rail games come to the wii.
