The major flaw in the argument is that reviews are heavily leaning to genres that favor hardcore gamers.

That is retarded. When you dont count all of the stuff in your last paragraph it isnt much of a comparison. All of that "extra" stuff is what makes each console what it is and solidifies its price vs. features for the best deal.

You're assuming (of course) that average game score is an adequate metric  for determining the value of a gaming system ... The average game score doesn't take into account highly anticipated games that will be released in the future, and it also doesn't measure the variety of games available for a system.

@darendt. True, but to make an analysis that includes all that "extra” stuff would take a much more complex model leaning to a Thesis or something like that.

I understand where your analysis is coming from, but at the end of the day, the Arcade lacks way too many features for this to be accurate. I realize that on paper the numbers say one thing, but this is a case where reality is quite different.

PS - Can you adjust your table size please? I can only see half of the last column =P

@Sqrl. Adjusted. Better?

Aah, sweet. Much better.

Its a great analysis btw, I just don't think the approach overestimates the Arcade's value... and probably the Wii's a bit too to be honest.

But then again I have a vendetta against all review scores so its not the approach I would have gone with. Still interesting though.

@Sqrl. Yes, I have some issues with reviewers. Maybe considering only “serious” and non-subjective reviewers. But who does the distinction? I don’t know.

Except Viva Pinata, the big majority of the Xbox360 games are for hardcroe player. I dont even mention that Viva Pinata 1 bombed on the Xbox : review + sales.

Their are trying to catch casual but I see them completely outcompteted by the Wii : cheaper + better (for casual).

I dont expect the Arcade to help them on the casual market and I dont see he wii suffering from the Xbox360 Arcade bundle.
