I've been a member of Game Fly since 2006, which gives me access to pretty much any game I'd like at any time. I was a regular Blockbuster member for years before that as well. I suppose having so many games at my disposal like this is in some way wrong as well?
I do collect games and even buy multiple copies of games that I believe will be a collectors item some day. And as far as I'm concerned, if I own a legitimate copy of something in my household, it is mine to use as I wish. Whether I break the seal or not doesn't change the fact that I own it.
Call me out on it all day if you want, but the fact of the matter is if companies as well as consumers like you opened up your closed minded mentality just a bit, maybe, just maybe our games and systems would become something bigger and more accessible, resulting in a broader interest spreading to a larger consumer base and a thriving industry.

With Gamefly, you're paying for something and yeah, you can rent as much as you want. There's nothing wrong with that and I'm not sure why you think I might think there's something wrong with that...
And you can do whatever you want with that game you collect. If you choose not to break the seal, good for you, but then that means you also don't get to play it. If you do decided to break the seal and back it up, whatever, but just know if you have something that plays that back up you have a chance you're going to get your console banned and it would be your own damn fault.
What's close minded about people wanting to get paid for their work? Do you think all game developers live like rock stars and each have five boats or something? Except for the actual rock star developers like Cliffy B, game developers in general don't make a lot of money (compared to other similar jobs) and the ones that do make more work hard in order to make more.
Sure, it would be great if we could all play whatever game whenever we wanted without having to pay for anything but who would actually make those games?
When you take a game without paying for it, you're taking money away from the people that worked hard to bring you that game. There's nothing really close minded about that, it's just a fact.

I firmly believe modders (...) are absolute scum...

Explain this to me, I fail to see any kind of reasoning in this.

Sorry, meant to say pirates there.
While I believe that most modders (not case modders) pirate games, I don't really care if they mod their console, it's the pirating and "backing up" games I care about.
