Oh and,
DMC 3 > Bayonetta > DMC 4 for me.
4 was disappointing.
GoW can't be compared, since its kind of a different sub-genre.
JP hack 'n slashes focus on gameplay, combos, etc.
Western Hack 'n slash (GoW, Dante's Inferno) focus on lesser difficulty, story, setting and extremely FUN gameplay as opposed to the satisfyingly challenging difficultcombat of JP hack'n slash.
For me God of War > ALL

These days, not really. TLR got a near full score (38/40), while Demon's Souls wasn't even close (29/40). Credibility equals zero. Seriously. |

She would be hotter without the glasses. Unless you're into that whole librarian look ofcourse.
Interesting a 10 for Bayonetta? Might pick this one up.
I wasn't impressed with Dragon Age(PC Version) or Neverwinter Nights 1, but thoroughly enjoyed the Baldur's Gate series and Icewind Dale 1.
As for Devil May Cry, the first one EASILY outshines all the rest.
hmm well first of all, have no idea what bayonette is. i had heard the name of this game before, but no idea what type of game or even system its for, so no comment on that score.
since edge not too surprised to see an 8/10 on zelda.
but a 5/10 on dragon age? maybe they are only using a 5 point scale on this game. no other explanation. even if this is teh console version at worst it should be 2 points lower. adn taht is being super super super harsh. (i have seen enough videos of console version to know that even being a stickler i would still only rate it at worse a point lower). But lets say it is console and they totally being a dick and rating 2 poins lower, or hell even 3 points lower. still an 7 or an 8 is way to low for dargon age.
as some have said maybe they threw someone on it that can't stand those types of games, or whatever. wow now that is great job. but how come you guys always get pissed when it is obvious the reviewer does not like tha tgenre and is reviewing only when it is in your favor of a game you like. Its clear as day that over 50% of wii games are being reviewed by guys htat hate the system, hate that game, and so on. Hell look at wii music, ign flat out said they were gonna review this game horribly before they even got to lay hands on it.
in the real business world if someone was caught saying that they would not be able to review it, and hell probably even be fired. it makes their business look bad, so the company would let them go and give a statement like "that is not how our business works" of course much better and professional sounding.

I speak for myself since I was one of the first to bring out the whole DA:O score. I don't comment on their Wii score games since pratically much all the Wii games that I like got high scores and were rated and reviewed fairly, so I've got no reason to point what I pointed at DA:O review.
But if they give the new Zelda Wii, the new Lufia 2 DS remake or Fragile (EU version) any lower than what the games deserve, I'll be defending the same points again.

well heck i have seen reviews that start out with "i ain't a big fan of this genre, or series" or even "I love this series or genre so much" both shoudl not be reviewing the game. Or at least lose all credibility for a just score.
They shoudl just write on their blog their own review. Otheriwise their is bais, which is not supposed to be in a review. star trek frist thing that popped in my mind, but what was the reason that kirk got command of the enterprise over spock. Because spock was too emotionally involved to be a good captain.
same as reviews, you can't trust a reviewer when they go into it hating it, or sucking its manhood. When that happens you see thigns like the wii reviews where some games have reviews ranging from 4-10 for just one game. or you have shooters that have a 5 hour singleplayer and lacking some multiplayer features get 10's. sorry but that is not a perfect game.
10 is supposed to be the pinnacle of gaming, and yet we have games that are missing things that have been in that genre before and done good. Or we have "professional" reviewers bringing their own bias into reviews in order to sway the industry to their favor, or due to money issues. Advertising, ect.
If you go to highly respected professional reviewing places, you will never see an advertisment that they are recieving for anything they are reviewing. how can you trust a review when you know that, that person/company is getting thousands of dollars from that company.
