Well that's too bad, nen-suer.
| lestatdark said: @Nen-suer Yes, they do love their JRPG's, but they also gave high scores to Fable II, Mass Effect and Fallout 3, so they have no excuse to give DA:O that score. |
Is there a big difference between PC and consoles version of DA: O ?

| lestatdark said: @iBlah And that was a deserving score, the game is trully worth of praise, yet DA:O is not worth of an 5, having played it exhaustively, it's one of the best WRPG's that Bioware has ever made, with the incorporation of the best features both KOTOR and Baldur's Gate had, plus a story that can easily eclipse both of those games, so there's no excuse other than a complete dislike for those type of games from the reviewer (which leads to the question, should he review games that doesn't fit into his/her genre?) |
exactly, based from the relative reasonable scores they previously gave, it has to be the extreme personal preference of the reviewer.

@Nen-Suer
The biggest difference lies within the UI, which is more simplified in the console versions due to the skills bar being significantly smaller and the Tactics screen being more streamlined into a necessity rather than an acessory because of the control that you have on your characters is way less than on the PC version.
Also you can't pan out into a Tactical overhead camera which helps a lot in difficult mobs, so the overall difficulty of the console versions is reduced as well.

Those are some of the toughest critics out there (well, Famitsu used to be tough). Bayonetta will be one of the best games next year, deal with it.

@iBlah
That's precisely what I think that happened with DA:O review, which is a shame really, since it is far from what a professional should do.
People can say that ultimately it's the reviewers opinion, yet unlike us common gamers, professional reviewers have a responsability and an ethical uphold to the industry, which they do not undertake when they don't do a fair and equalitarian review of any game.

Maybe the 5 is just for the console version ?

@Nen-suer
I have a correction to make, they didn't give that much of an high score to Mass Effect and Fallout, both games got a 7, while Oblivion got an 8 and Fable II a 9. Yet, DA:O easily fits into the 7 and plus category, not 5.
Edit - Probably it's for the console versions only, yet that would mean that a PC version would get at best a 6. That's pratically an insult to what DA:O accomplishes.
