But its a premium high priced model with download only games, so i it will have much smaller crowd..no?

I mean 160GB PS3 sold alot less than 80Gb model, and the xbox elite sold less than the arcade and pro

and they werent that expensive & can play disc based games....are they considered flops ?

Do limited edition of games that dont sell well considered flops? Even if the standard version sold millions?

they don't treat the 160 gb PS3 like they are treating the PSPgo.  You don't have a 160 gb PS3 as one of your primary attractions at E3.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

nen-suer - it's slightly different, because the PSP:Go had an RnD cost associated with it, the 160 gb PS3 and elite 360 didn't

ah, good point...that make sense

but Sony did say that the PSPgo sales was within expectations :)

Yes, there is two ways to look at it. Perhaps Sony has not expected better sales for the go and they still are making profit from it. In that case it´s not all bad. On the other hand the first shipment was around 150k and it will take retailers a loooooooong time sell out that and this makes me feel like the console is still underperforming compared to expectations.

Also the go is not going to make a change in the race with the DS, but perhaps it was not expected to do so either. On the contrary it´s more likely Nintendo will surge ahead even more with the help of the DSi LL in the DS vs PSP race.

PSPGo is just an alternative choice,it doesnt sell big,but it brings profit, the PSP outsold DS in Japan this week.
All in all the PSP is very old and i expect the developing for it to stop in at least 2 years, when the PSP 2 will start shining.

Lol ! You should change your username to it!

My personal view was the Go suffered from the following flaws:

1 - should have gone touch screen and competed full on with Touch, etc.
2 - is perhaps too early with a digital model
3 - did not have enough exclusive digital content to push it

Of course, Sony may just take the view that it won't take of until their unified PSN launches (2010 I believe) and take whatever small marketshare it gives them until then.

I like the PSP concept, but I think they should rethink the offer a little - and get a second nub on it!

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

It won't be selling any good until someone release CFW for playing game images on it.

Well the real question is: How many people are downloading stuff off PSN with the purchase of the PSP Go (five games? ten games? one game? Whats the attach rate? Only Sony really knows here)  and how much is Sony making off the Go?

For software, the only thing we've heard is Atlus mentioning that P3P sold 10k via DD, but that'd be to all 13m+ PSP owners, no just GO owners.

I'll make this simple, anything that ships 150k upfront and has sold less than a third that total 3 weeks later is a flop.
