Forums - General - The thrilling potential of SixthSense technology

I don't see it taking off in the way that some think it will.

I think that the more likely outcome is that cell phones will integrate the projectors and gesture recognition into their interface, because you won't (always) have the luxury of projecting an interface onto a flat, non-transparent surface.

I agree that you won't always have a surface, but he did show off the part where he just held out his hand and it projected a phone and later pointed to his wrist where a watch would be and it projected a watch.  Those were kind of cool.

Also, it does work with just a piece of paper.  Think how cool it would be to take a folded piece of paper in your back pocket, hold it in front of you or set it down on your lap and you suddenly have a tablet?

I know stuff like that is 'cool' now, but I think at the same time, it may provide difficulty for integrating solutions. I've seen the hand-dial pad, but what if you have 1 hand?

Again, I think it's fantastic, but I believe the technology will wiggle its way into cellular phone technology, as it has the technical specifications to handle SixthSense technology.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

i dont like it.

O_O wow that's just unbelievable

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

Then they don't use it?

That's like saying you shouldn't be excited about the iPhone because someone is blind.

I think the implementation is questionable, but the concept is very cool ...

In 20 years time, I could see a device like your iPod/iPhone integrating with something like sun-glasses that would constantly update you on the environment around you.

I already have something like that. It's called Weather Bug for my Android phone. One touch and I get real-time updates concerning GPS-driven weather results and environmental forecasting. All you'd have to do is bluetooth the HUD to glasses and bingo.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
