Forums - General - The thrilling potential of SixthSense technology

Holy shit this is amazing.

Shit starts getting really crazy at around 5 minutes but it's totally worth it to watch the whole 14 minute video.

freking AWESOME!! but my gf is already bitching about the time i spend with my iPhone.. I wonder what she would say if I would carry a computer on my back all the time.. >_

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

I watched 12 minutes and 40 something seconds of that video (my personal record). Simply incredible. The applications for this technology are potentially limitless. Unbelievable.

I gotta watch this again.

Favourited.

Wow, this is extremely helpful for my PhD Twesterm. Thankyou for posting this. I am particularly interested in the finger tracking technology.

Heh, I saw your PhD thread and thought about this, that's why I posted it.

Thanks mate. It's really appreciated. Right now I'm just basically trying to learn about this kind of stuff and gather as much information and ideas as I can. It's very helpful

That's amazing stuff, this has got me excited about the future of technology.

On a side note, I love TED, I've watched quite a few talks on there, really interesting people and subjects (usually).

Yeah, usually when I see some sort of tech demo like that I think that's neat, could be useful, probably never actually use it though but holy shit, that thing is just awesome.

The fact it's also so cheap (camera + something with 3G + minimal OS) and all open source just makes that fairly amazing. If someone actually puts some funds in developing that further that could easily be the next iPhone and totally blow the iPhone away.

The only issue I can see with it (well, my dad pointed it out), is visibility in outside light. I'd also think that they'd need to become rather compact to get the "trendy masses" to partake.

I don't see it taking off in the way that some think it will.

I think that the more likely outcome is that cell phones will integrate the projectors and gesture recognition into their interface, because you won't (always) have the luxury of projecting an interface onto a flat, non-transparent surface.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
