I wasn't all that excited for the game at first, but it started to grow on me. So I picked it up this past Tuesday at Toys R Us. They had a deal, get one game and you get $20 off your next one. Already armed with gift cards and store credit, this seemed like a no brainer. I ended up getting Wii Sports Resort (With two wii motion plus sensors) all for just a little more than the cost of one new game. Win for me.
First game I played when I got home, was Mario Wii. So far, no multiplayer (Probably because I don't like the idea of that) as of yet, only single player. And I'm not impressed. Which is weird, I recall liking the DS game, despite it being so short. I just don't like how slow Mario moves. Maybe it's true to the original in that sense, but even making him run seems ... slow. I'm just unimpressed overall with this game. I'm now in world 2 on the map, and the level designs are getting interesting, but I'm finding it hard to jump on enemies. But this could just be me, so I won't knock the game there.
What do I like about the game other than some level designs? Not much. I do appreciate the fact they kept the fights with the koopalings roughly the same. Added some difficulty, but it's roughly the same battles. Which again, I appreciate.
Seems the only bright light is Wii Resort. The game I wanted to get because I wanted another party game, but just couldn't bring myself to pay the $50 for a game that looked like that. I've been missing out! Archery is my favorite, and a total blast. Also having fun with Frisbee, and the recently unlocked Frisbee golf. Thanksgiving and Christmas is gonna rock with everyone joining in.
As for Mario, I'll keep playing. Refuse to let a Mario game collect dust. And who know, it may grow on me. But as of right now, I impatiently wait for Galaxy 2. A game I have no doubt I'll enjoy.
