1) Now, you are going to answer me, how much will Sony make on PS3(gaming division) in next 5 years?

2) Also, if i remeber correct, since FY10, those numbers contain not only gaming division but also some other. Same goes for Microsoft, which include Zune and other stuff. x360 still might be bleeding of money, but that is just covered with sales of other stuff.

He isnt trolling he is stating a statistic. And he is right Japan will be the last nation in the world to purchase "less reliable" hardware. They love quality and the rep of the previous x-box has affected the 360 in Japan biig time. Also take not Japanese people tend to have smaller hands. How the fuck are they going to hold a 360 controller effectively.

Well everyone already knows this. But you wil get a lot of people saying stuff like well the 360 is in the lead and that what counts.

The PS3 is facing the 360 of 2009 not 2008

Developers dont look at what console is winning in hyperfetical situations. yadayadayada

Also you will get the ones saying so the PS3 is going to fall more behind and sell less then the 360 in total sales when all is said and done.

Then you get the ones who says by th etime the PS3 passes the 360 the next gen would have started so it wont even matter.

I say untill the red line on the graph goes below the green line then noone can argue with me about the PS3 have the most sales out of the two consoles

To answer your question - sony won't make any profit in the next 5 years on the ps3.  A few hundred million at most.

You are having problems understanding REPORTED LOSSES vs REAL LOSSES.

1. PS3 has NEVER made 1 yen of profit. 

2. PS2 and PSP have been profitable since 2006.

3. Sony has lost 4.7 billon since 2006 - REPORTED ENTIRE GAME DIVISION LOSS -

Which means, the ps3 lost MORE than 4.7 billion because the PS2 and psp were profitable - The ps3 NEGATED psp AND ps2 profits.  Therefore, the REAL LOSS of the ps3 is MUCH HIGHER than the reported 4.7 billion.

We will never know for sure because sony doesn't want their investors to know what a money blackhole boondoggle the ps3 has become.

Take off your sony love blinders for a sec and analyze this logically.

So you have proven you CANNOT differentiate ps2 vs psp vs ps3.  Okay fine - after sony reports a loss of 250 million$ this quarter - then they will have lost more on the ps3 than they made on the ps1 and ps2.....happy now...lol

Secondly, why would you trust sony PR when they have been  wrong every year about ps3 profitabiity?

I have proved, that i don`t state numbers which i can`t back with facts or links. I really would like to see how many Sony made profit on PSone alone, on PS2 alone and PSP alone. Do you have such numbers? I would like to see them, not to listen to your imagination.

Why should i trust some analytics, which don`t work for Sony? I trust facts, which are backed with links. Also, do you know, that in 2008 economical recession has started?

Some people don't understand logic/reasoning, and can only see what's in front of them at face value, they're incapable of looking beneath the surface, so I suggest to cease and desist, for your sanity.

Advice for ZorroX
Try to read more carefully, and learn to understand business a little better. If a company posts a loss for a division, like Sony and its division that includes PSP PS2 and PS3, and they report a 4.7billion $ loss (since whenever), but they say that PSP and PS2 are still profitable, then logic dictates that PS3 is far worse than appears on the surface. PSP and PS2 are taking some of the slack that PS3 is generating.

Edit: Also, trusting analysis is difficult, since they're usually funded by a group that has a vested interest in the result. Perfect example is the recent NINTENDO study saying that Wii Fit is good exercise, when an article came out about 1 month ago saying that rigirous walking is far better exercise than Wii Fit could be. I'd link the article but unfortunately, it's blocked here so I can't search it. Think I saw it on Joystiq, or Kotaku, with a headling like 'Wii fit won't actually make you fit'.

LOL....Kaz Hirai works for SONY and he LIED numerous times to shareholders about PS3 profitability.  He can't help himself, because he knows if he said the ps3 the disaster it actually is, sony's stock would drop.

I have no vested interest in the success or failure of SONY.....but SONY does!
