Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time box art.

Although Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time did not make the top ten software NPD chart for October, Insomniac Games is still very satisfied with the sales performance of their latest title.

In their latest Full Moon Show podcast, the developer revealed that A Crack in Time is the fastest-selling game in the Ratchet and Clank series yet. That is a rather impressive feat considering that the eight previous titles have combined to sell over 25 million units worldwide.

Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time was released on October 27th exclusively for the Playstation 3. The October NPD report covered the period between October 4th and the 31st.

Good news for Insomniac they deserve it.

Sorry for Insomniac,s game.  "It Ain't selling!!"  No one coming in the stores asking for it.  Its "Dead in the water." To bad they put it out in the fall when all the "Real" AAA titles come out.  That title may be good but its "Under the radar" right now.   Its sad that most compnies put thier titlies out during the Fall season and Tax return season "Hoping they can spur sells."  When your up against the BIG guns, you better know somebody.  To bad for Ratchet his guns only big enough for the system its on.  Oh well, better luck on your next title and pray Sony wont have to force you on the buying public by packing you in with the system...

for the last time sales for this will pick up later, where does all the hate for R&C come from?? TOD sold slowly as first too, and last time i looked that was no failure, not at 1.65m!!

it's the future of handheld

PS VITA = LIFE

The official Vita thread http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=130023&page=1

Well in UK it debuted at #16 and out of top 40 the week after. I think this site may overtracking it.

Don't think its successful at all. even something like eyepet outselling it.

I think with some luck this stands a chance to hit 0.40 b4 xmas and 0.60 life time

25 million over 8 games would translate to over 3 million a game.

This seems way too high.

Also coulda swore threre were more then 8 games.

I believe at their peak on PS2 R&C games sold over 3 Million easily.  They got cinema ads, etc. well in advance of say Gears getting cinema ads and had a pretty big fanbase on PS2.

On PS3 sales have been lower, but clearly the game simply sells at a steady rate to the fans rather than in a big rush.  I think it's a title people 'get around to' rather than buying right away, so buy AC2 now then R&C in January, that sort of thing.

As I said, Insomnic normally try and get out 1 game a year, targeting lower sales LTD than a blockbuster but obviously seeing steady income and sales as a result.

I mean, so far RFOM is over 3Million, R2 is around 1.6, R&C Future is around 1.6, so that's over 6million units (not county Booty PSN sales) so far this gen, which ain't bad really.  If 'Crack' gets to around 1.6 then they'll be approaching 7 million units.  This while other studios take 2 years or more to get out a game that sells 1 or 2 million.

I doubt Insonmnic will ever see a whopper of a title that sails past 5 million all on its own, but their model is surely very profitable, and I doubt they've anything but happy bunnies right now - which is probably why they win so many 'employer of the year' type awards.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Thats just a possability not an absolutly. there are plenty more AAA titles coming out during the Tax return season, so this game we hope and pray will get some attention in long term sales.  I never mentioned I disliked the title.  I sale games all day long at my job and there is no Buzz or lines or anyone asking for this title cept a select few.  Maybe just maybe the others sold cause they were better or nothing else to play (platform wise) at thier time of release.  Are there any other platformer out on PS3 at this time with 25 million systems  sold World wide even 1.65 million = "EPIC FAILURE"...

Lets go Rachet ! Lets hit 1 Million.

Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Slaughterhouse Is The Sh*t  .... NOW ........ B_E_L_I_E_V_E

The series is as casual as it gets and since the PS3's price is a lot more casual friendly now you'd expect certain games to enjoy their best sales. Just look at Eye Pet sales.

Currently playing on PS3: God of War III

Currently playing on Xbox360: Final Fantasy XIII

Currently playing on NDS: Chrono Trigger

A Crack in Time is out-tracking any other R&C game I can find on the VGchartz database... so yeah, I guess it's selling pretty good.

I'm really surprised tbh as Sony seem to be really neglecting this series, I'd imagine it's doing these sales with Insomniac's smallest marketing budget yet 0_o.

haven't played any ratchet game before ..i gave a shot to both TD a AciT demos and liked them a lot and i am looking forward to buy both count my 2 purchases in these to! ,before you guys go ballistic PS3 is actually my first console.

It's really surprising but Insomniac games aren't really doing that great as a whole!

They are a talented bunch of guys/gals, but looking at the sales of all their titles, they really aren't producing the sales that they want.

RFOM has sold 3.6m which is a great number, but considering it was seriously bundled here in Europe, over 2m copies are probably down to the bundling of them and it was one of the quickest games to reduce to a budget price of £20-£25.

RCF:TOD has sold 1.65m in 2 years which is not too bad, but again, this game reduced in price quite quick in Europe and I know it was quite slow in sales straight off the year it released as was Uncharted at the time.

RCF:QFB has sold under 0.5m and has been on the market for 16 months.

R2 has sold 1.72m after 12 months and has been a disappointment overall.

A Crack in Time even though being quoted as being the fastest selling Ratchet game, has started really slowly compared to most games selling only 250k in 3 weeks WW, I have the feeling that it will be hard pushed to reach 1m lifetime.

Prediction (June 12th 2017)
