If you're sure it's just your grip, you might want to check some musical instrument shops for one of those spring-loaded finger exercising niknaks (primarily intended for guitarists, but they should do the same job).

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

Stop jerking off so much...also...you play the violin? Bahahahahahaahahahahahaahahahahahaahahahahahaahahahahahaahahahahahaahahahahahaahahahahahaahahahahahaahahahahahaahahahahahaahahahahahaahahahahahaahahahahaha

That's about as likely as me playing by somebody elses rules, which I would never do. I only play by my own rules, nobody elses...not even my own.

What's wrong with the violin?  >_>

It's just that when I imagine a violin player...I imagine a 9 year old Chinese Girl absolutely owning those strings. Angrypooldude is therefore a small asian girl in my mind.

I played the violin for many years. When I was first learning how to properly hold a bow, my teacher told me, "It's like a dog biting down." That just stuck in my mind somehow...

But, here is how it should look:

If it's awkward for you, that's normal. It takes some time to get comfortable. Just keep a firm grip by "biting down", that's the best advice I can give you. Can't go wrong with more practice! It's weird you mention that your fingers slip when using the bottom part of the bow... I tend to have the most control when using the lower portion. Hmmm... Good luck, and it's great to see you taking up the violin!

Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

i think i know the problem. in that pic, the guy actually has some sort of grip on his bow. a year or two ago, the grip on my bow kept slipping, so i just took it off completely. i think that is why i am having trouble with my fingers slipping.
