Forums - Gaming - Anyone else only buying one console in the future?

Since the Atari and NES days, i've never bought only one console... SNES/Genesis, PS1/N64, PS2/Dreamcast/GC, and now PS3/Wii...

And if Nintendo and Sony keep the excellent work with the 1st parties i'll buy both a PS4 and a WiiHD, Nextbox? maybe, if 3rd parties really jump and the 1st party focuses enough, and of course, no crazy error that damages 40% of consoles... But for now, i'm only sure about Ninty and Sony...

Nintendo's consoles will probably always be my main consoles but as long as I have the money I will get other consoles as well (unless they suck :P). This gen I've only bought Wii but I have access to a PS3 as well and I'm thinking of getting a 360 when Bayonetta arrives.

I don't really have a choice in the matter, I need all three this gen. I'll be getting a 360 before christmas and a Wii after new years and then my life will be complete! Or full of games anyway...

I have always had one console for each past generation. This is the first time I bought two consoles. I bought my wii and I love it, but there is a lack of hardcore games on it. And if I play a hardcore game I'm gonna want the best graphics, so I then bought a PS3.

With two consoles, I'm finding it quite hard, with a lack of money and time to play all the games I want on both consoles. So I've started thinking about selling my ps3 so I can buy more wii games, but resisting it because I might regret it later.

I'm hoping next generation, the next Nintendo will have a system with similar power to the other consoles and will therefore attract more hardcore games, so I won't have to buy two consoles.

Also, I will probably stop buying handhelds all together. I bought a psp, hated it, sold it. Then I bought a DS, loved it, but then stopped playing it because, again, money and time issues, and I would just rather buy console games.

I'll propably stick with playstation on the next gen too.

I feel the same way, but the other way around. I feel my 360 is becoming increasingly unnecessary to me since I get most of my gaming joy from the Wii. I won't decide either way until I see what next gen has to offer, but I won't be surprised if I end up getting just one of the consoles next time.

you need a 360/ps3...and a Wii.

PC is nice but you really need one of those 2 consoles for major multiplats and wii to unwind when you dont feel like getting teabagged by 13 year olds...

I always stick to 1 console,I have thought about buying a wii but like you say I dont want to buy a bunch of games for that system and have to bye games for my main system as well,to expensive.I will always be a xbox guy,all the games I love are on xbox 360 and to me its a true gaming system. The original xbox is what switched me to microsoft or else I would still be a sony fan today
