To be fair, anything beats IE. Surfing on cardboard using a chisel beats IE.
Do people really browse the internet on a console? That seems just so ackward and annoying. I mean, that's what computers are for! And even most people in developed countries have laptops nowadays which are dirt cheap and you can just browse from your couch or bed!
Only time I've had a problem with the PS3 browser is on this site where it keeps giving me Java errors and doesn't properly load the homepage. Otherwise I don't have errors or crashes. I just don't like the way it works. I'd prefer a Firefox browser. The reason to have FF on the PS3 for me is so that I can watch interweb stuff on my big TV instead of my sad 17" monitor. And not to mention the crap quality of my PC speakers compared to the TV.
Don't know anything about Opera or Chrome.

in the research, PS browse is in the list of most popular browser. that mean it have a number of user is using either PSP or PS3 for the internet browsing. PS3 is a true media center with Bluray and bitstreaming. once you have a PS3 connected to your TV. you will know this is great to have a PS3
