Forums - Gaming - Any one finish Dragon Age yet? How long did it take?

I am in the same boat as kowenicki. I am in for 10-15 hours and it bores me somehow.

Go to place kill some monsters...Go to other place talk with bunch of NPC's (don't want to miss some stuff) kill some enemies and then of to the next town/place...

I thought the game would have an Oblivion feeling...Well with that I mean...really walk to places while you can go into dungeons for grinding or finding treasures...

I am going play something else first before I go further with this game again.

That 'formula' you stated in your 2nd paragraph, that's pretty much every RPG in a nutshell. Go here, kill stuff, go there, kill stuff. There are actually some fights you can avoid in Dragon Age, but that's besides the point. Even Oblivion, while open, you go here, kill stuff, go there, kill stuff. Or stealth and steal (which isn't nearly as funny as in Daggerfall where you break into shops, steal horses and wagons, and sell them back to the shop the next day).

RPGs are more about battle system, leveling system, and story. So if you wanted to say you're bored because you dislike any or all of those aspects in dragon age, I think I'd find you're claim to have more validity.

To me you're saying 'I don't like Dragon Age because it's an RPG, but I like Oblivion because it's an RPG.

Well, actually, I re-read your 3rd paragraph, you expected more of a persistant, open world. I can see what you're saying with that. But the 2nd paragraph still seems out of place.

darth u getting PC or PS3 version? U xcited?

Finished the game as a human noble right around the 80 hour mark. I don't know how getting the all possible endings achievement is going to be remotely feasible. Just in the Human Noble ending there are some many possibilities...

I just finished the game today as well. Played as a human rogue. Geez the last battle was hard...and it didnt help that the game froze on the first time I beat it. Had to go back and do it again. I believe my ending time was around 45 hours.

My first play-through took about 55 hours on the PC. Definitely the way to play this game.

I've played 80 hours 50 minutes 32 seconds... and I've managed to explore 77% of the world and done all quests I could and I still haven't finished. I'm really slow in these games :/

I finished it a few days ago as a human noble. It took me 42 hours to beat. That said i'm not into side quests so it was a great length considering the other bioware games.I enjoyed it a lot!By the way from what i read on bioware forums human noble has the weakest origin story out of the six.So i'll replay it just for the other origin stories sometime...

When I get this game It'll take me a very long time because I play every sidequest possible in RPG's.

Not sure if I should get this game yet, but it looks pretty good. I loved Oblivion which seems similar. And I liked KOTOR, which was also made by Bioware. Not a huge fan of Mass Effect though..
