Maybe they shouldn't be so explicit, althought... no... i mean... yeah... well... they shouldn't. Still, their job is to tell consumers there is a better version out there and specify it not only in the text (and even that many reviewers don't dare) but in the score also.

And they are scared. Remember when gametrailers was bashed by hordes of fanboys for having given a so-so grade on MGS4's story ? They were harrassed for weeks by hundreds of fanatics. PS3 fanboys even made sigs in masses to better bash gametrailers ! Who does that ?

See what I mean ? Two sites are doing their job and a PS3 fanboy instantly considers them below Kotaku.

If you write reviews people are going to disagree sometimes and sometimes they'll be pricks about it, if they really couldn't handle that they shouldn't be reviewers, but honestly I doubt it bothers them.

Aw, I wanted to see if I would get it for the PS3 this time around.

Look, it sounds like there are some minor advantages to the 360 build of the game but not enough to make a big difference.  If it were me and I had both systems I might still be swayed by which controller is better for the game rather than a miserable 2%. If you only have one system buy the version you can play and don't worry about the other guy.

I don't for a second believe that IGN or any other reviewer can objectively arrive at scores of 88% and 90%.  They took off a couple of percent because they felt like it, for the minor differences between in graphics, loading or whatever it was. Who's to say whether those differences are worth 2%, 5% or 0% in the scheme of what the game offers. 

I would love if there was a universal controller that allowed blind game reviews, it would put the amazing discriminative powers of game reviewers to the test.

If so tell me then why xbox fans do not act like angered sheep when Halo 3 gets a bad review ? And what about the wii ? huh ? It gets bashed so often its' not even funny anymore and you still don't see nintendo fans making weird sigs out of it.

What about when Kotaku posts ludricious articles trying to downplay the PS3 or Sony? They would be more likely to say AC 2 is crap on PS3 but they didnt and greatly enjoyed it.

Second, I have the game and the problems brought up by IGN AU are not evident to what I am seeing right now. Lens of Truth comparison almost caused me not to buy it. I went in looking for GoW Collection and AC Bloodlines. They did not have the former, so what the hey I took the plunge and got AC 2.

I am almost angry at Lens of Truth for almost making me miss out on a great game. Yea the game has its problems but it is not like the PS3 versions runs at 5 FPS with blindingly horrible screen tearing that renders all characters in halfs? No sir that is not happening right now as I play it.

Ok if you dont believe me, I have a game called Splinter Cell DA on the PS3 and I am truthfully gonna say it is crap. The framerate is horrible and the graphics stink. It is awful.

But I am not saying it for AC 2 because that is not what I am experiencing. It I was experiencing that, I would be ranting about it and would have sold the copy already.

If a multiplat needs all these microscopes and expensive tool sets to tell you a minimal difference you will probably not notice during gameplay, believe me it is not worth it.

Are you telling me that Wii fans don't get mad about reviews they disagree with or companies doing things they don't like? What a load, that happens right on this site or did you miss the "boycott ____" craze? And no Xbox fan was mad about bad Halo 3 reviews? Again a bunch of bull.

You see what you want to see, always been true. No group of fans is worse as a whole than any other. They all act like idiots from time to time, stop thinking you're better just because you prefer one piece of plastic over another.

Just another demonstration of the shortcomings of review scoring systems like this. Either the differences are significant enough to make the PS3 version absolutely inferior, in which case it should be a 8.0 or 8.5 game vs the 360's 9.0, or the differences are insignificant and the review scores should be the same. Having 0.1 margins in game reviews only serves to fuel the fires of the fanatical by giving people miniscule differences to blow into gargantuan proportions.

And Metacritic is even worse. Since people mentioned Dragon Age Origins I think it's ridiculous that PS3 has 89% on Meta and 360 has 87%, and PC version has 91%. Basically PC version deserves a 9 score, just, so should be 9.0. PS3 and 360 versions don't appear to deserve 9s so should both get 8.5s.

At the end of the day the quality differences only have relevance for the person who owns both consoles. If you only have a PS3 you're not going to be put off the game by this review. If you only have a 360 you're not going to be convinced it is a must have game by this review.

It's in the write up of a review that the technical edge should be mentioned to give the multiconsole owner a steer regarding which version to buy. For everyone else we just need to know whether a game sits in the C, B, A, or A+ category.

Yeah right. You can even sense differences from one website to the other, even more from one country to the other (an Xbox fan in France gets twice the heat than in the US, believe me). Its' just so "cliché" to just level it all out it's already wearing me out
