I see it almost impossible.

This is my extremely best case scenario.

Final Fantasy XIII PS3 --- Japan 2.1M --- US 1.5M --- Europe 1.2M (Total 4.8M)
Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 --- US 1.7M --- Europe 0.9M (Total 2.6M)

Total 7.4M

In order to outsell Final Fantasy VII it should have to make these monster and unbelievable sales.

Final Fantasy XIII PS3 --- Japan 2.5M --- US 2M --- Europe 2M (Total 6.5M)
Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 --- US 2M --- Europe 1.5M (Total 3.5M)

Total 10M

Seems... unlikely.

For that to be the case it's American and European numbers probably will need to be greater then the Japanese numbers.

am I the only one who can't stand turn based RPG's that use anything else than a Pokémon-like battle system?

The new "innovative" Active time battle systems are one of the things that scare me away from newer RPGs

I wouldn't say scare me away... but i do hate the new Active Time battle system...

I mean that's actually existed since like... FF4... it's just nobody every enabled it because it was stupid.


It would be like playing a platformer saying "I'm never going to stand still... only just run at full speed."

 

Sure you can do it... but you wouldn't want that to be the default.

1. They are l'cie not rebels, their mission is to kill the people in the country they have been brought up in, if they fail they will all be turned into crystal monsters or something. Thats why they go against the fal'cie.....its more like l'cie (our main cast) against the Fal'cie crystal gods of two nations (Pulse & Cocoon)

2. They have PLAYED the game....YOU haven't

3. lol, so you really haven't done any research on FF13's battle system rofl! That link is full of factual mistakes!

One more thing about point 1.....you won't many RPG's, western or japanese that isn't loosely based on that kind of a storyboard

there is always the underdogs (our main character) & big empire/country/cliched villain against them
