on PS1 about 70% of the people who played FFVII pirated the damn thing.

FFVII did over 10 million. FFXIII is very unlikely to reach that number.

Funny how this never happened huh!? Right now we have FFVII at 9.72 million (PS1 version only) while FFXIII did 4,89 miliion on PS3 and 1,91 million on the 360 bringing them both to 6.8 million. The FFXIII numbers haven't been updated in a while so they may be somewhat higher, but still not enough to bring it close to the FFVII LTD.

Should be proof enough that Square should fix the problem and cut off the fat. Seems like they released XIII-2 so that they could at least get as much profit as VII. Since its basically same engine and not much innovation b/t the titles.

They probably will end up remaking it though in time for the 50th anniversary of the game's release in 2047!!!

I had no doubt it wouldn't be anywhere near VIIs sales even with it being multiplat. FF hasn't been the same since X and the sales are continuously dropping with each installment.

On a side note: 7 million. Called it!

If you count XIII-2 and Lightning Returns, then yeah this is going to happen.

You shouldn't count those, i mean FFVII has had it's own spinoffs so...

Versus XIII has the potential to be as big as FFVII sales-wise and quality-wise.    Now what SE needs to do is release the fucking game!
