Forums - Gaming - Dead Space 2, inFamous 2 recieving online components

Sucker Punch's InFamous sequel is to have an "online component", if we should believe a job ad that's appeared on the internet (and we should, really).

"We are evaluating focused, easy to work with, and professional candidates to implement the on-line component for our forthcoming AAA title," reads the advertisement.

"Building on-line components of video games is a major plus," it adds, clarifying that the game in question is, obviously, for PlayStation 3.

Earlier this year voice actor David Sullivan inadvertently confirmed the sequel, posting on his Twitter: "First voiceover/motion capture audition today for a video game. Re-casting of Cole in the sequel of Infamous. 'I'll melt your face.' e.g."

Sony said at the time: "We have made no announcements in regards to the inFamous franchise."

Dead Space 2 is to include an online multiplayer mode, yet another leaky EA job advert has revealed.

The job listing, which is advertising for a "Senior Online Level Designer" (our first hint), asks that the new employee "be able to work collaboratively with Creative Director and Online Producer to create extremely fun, satisfying and polished multiplayer levels."

Of course it's not the first time EA's inadvertently detailed the sequel via the Jobcentre; a few weeks ago the publisher revealed that the 360 and PS3 follow-up is currently in pre-production with the "core" original team.

"The previous instalment in the Dead Space franchise received numerous awards for gameplay, visuals, and sound design, and the same core team is in place to create an even better follow up," it said.

"The game is in the later stages of pre-production, ready for production in the next few months, with many of the navigational and combat mechanics in place," it continued.

I wonder what these two will be. Could be good, could be not so good.

Am I going to play inFamous 2's online mode over Call of Duty etc...? NO! Stop adding multiplayer to games that don't need it!

@ dobby: So... because you won't play an online mode in one game because you're addicted to another, that means it can't have one? Funny.

That's the stupidest thing I have heard for a long time. We don't even know what the online will be yet. I for one would be much more attracted to multiplayer in inFamous' open world than in Modern Warfare's maps.

NO, IT´s NOT THE STUPIDEST THING... IT MAKES SENSE!!!

When you are addicted to one´s game online mode, you stay there for a looong time... so I don´t bother when I enter into KZ online more... ´cause I am no on MW2 online... it´s like MGS4 online component... it´s not a big deal...

INFAMOUS and DEAD SPACE has value for the solo adventure, maybe like the recent games that offer CO-OP (like borderlines) makes sense and sold a lot because this feature...

PSN: franco-br
MGS4, GH, MW2, GT5p, WipeoutHD, etc..etc..

@ kibebr

But we don't know what the online will be. It could be pretty much anything at this point! Uncharted 2 probably didn't need multiplayer either, but that turned out to be awesome.

I would be cool for Infamous to have a party mode ala GTA IV

Dead Space 2 "pre-production with the "core" original team" hell yeah!

For infamous 2 I think it might be similar to Batman:AA with challenge rooms and leaderboards.

I'm not sure how Dead Space will work with multiplayer levels. I can't imagine deathmatch or anything like that... A Dead Space survival co-op mode on the other and would be so good!!!

But... but.... why???

I hope single-player is the focus for inFamous2...

4 ≈ One
