I'm getting a PS3, probably order it tomorrow, not sure yet. Hope I make the right decision though. I've never been so insecure about buying a console.

WII is a must buy as it fits perfectly with either both of the high spec consoles and has IMO the best line up for the upcoming months.

If you're really having problems deciding, here's my advice:

Step 1. Someone here mentioned making a PRO/CON list for the PS3. Make one. Go back and forth stating one PRO and then one CON until you state 3 or more PROs/CONs and then move on. If there's more CONs than PROs, consider waiting.

Step 2. Make a list of all the PS3 games that are out RIGHT NOW that you want to buy. If there's less than 5, consider waiting.

Step 3. Decide if you can afford to spend that money on a PS3 right now. Are you better off saving your money for other things? Fire Emblem and Super Mario Galaxy are coming for the Wii which you already have, would buying the PS3 mean going without them?

Step 4. If you can afford to buy the PS3 without feeling remorseful, can you afford to buy those 5+ games from Step 2 to make it worthwhile. You WILL feel bad about buying a $500 paperweight; I can promise you that. If you're going to get the system, make sure you can afford the games to make it fun right now otherwise you will be unhappy.

Anyone considering buying a console should do things like these. Make sure that you know what you're investing in and that it's really what you want. Replace PS3 above with whatever your console of choice is.

Best wishes of happy gaming to both Selnor and Onna76. ^_^

EVERYONES FORGETTING SUPER PAPER MARIO!!
that game rocks.

I say the Wii would be better than the 360 for simulation games, u should get battalion wars and Guitar heroe 3 and of course super smash bros.

"Like you know"

get these games: Resident Evil 4 Super paper mario Wii play (if u need an extra wii remote) Metriod Prime 3

Yeah but the thing is, what if it doesn't? Then I need to sell my 60+ JP PS2 collection as my PS3 can't play them and with a PS2 they look horrible on my TV. If I buy now the PS3 and they do come with a new SKU with BC then I'll kick myself for not waiting any longer... Either way it sucks both ways. If there were only one person out there who could tell me for 100% sure BC will never come back or it will... *sigh*.

But er... at least you Selnor don't have to worry about buying a WII, WII will have plenty games to enjoy you in the upcoming months. Personally I'd recommend: Zelda, Trauma Center, Zack & Wiki, Fire Emblem (when it releases in the US), Raving Rabbids (+2), Excite Truck, Mario Galaxy, Resident Evil 4 (not a fan myself but many people are enthusiastic about this game)....

100% hardware B/C is probably not coming back. I have the 60 GB US version and I'm glad I got the fully B/C unit. The upscaling definintely did make a difference for me - especially with reading the text.

Oh yeah, I'll probably be getting a Wii in January or February.  Although I have a 360, but I support Nintendo and Sony alot more.  Probably my bias toward Japanese products, and my general contempt for MS for having to re-install Windows so many times.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
