US, November 16, 2009 - Texas-based developer Gearbox Software expressed enthusiasm today over the sales of its new, online co-op shooter franchise Borderlands, declaring the title to be the fastest selling new franchise launch of 2009.

Borderlands' NPD numbers were impressive for the month of October. The combined platform sales of the title out performed Sony's Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Nintendo's Wii Fit Plus.

Honestly, I thought this game would bomb big time. Didn't seem to have any hype and the box art and art style in general seemed like it would be a turn off to the mainstream shooter crowd. Congratz, Gearbox.

I did as well. Im glad it did good, I got it for PC and its a blast. Id gladly buy a sequel with more classes and a bit more depth.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

lots of positive word of mouth, so it could have some decent legs. However, MW2 might shove it to the side, so we will have to see.
