I don't get the rapid playthrough. Maybe I'm just a weak gamer, but as I've moved along in the game, I've made sure I checked out every platform and gone for every star in the galaxy. I've easily played 3-4 hours and I think I have 8 or 9 stars. I definitely don't suck at video games so I know it's not that. Maybe I'm just moving too slow and taking it all in.

The water effects in the Bee areas are pretty good for a Wii as are some of the other effects.

I'm at 51 stars, I take things very easy, slow and enjoy every second of it, not brag about like others here of how fast they've beaten the game. I have one question for which I only like to have a simple yes or no, NO SPOILERS PLEASE!!!

Those glowing plants in certain galaxies are they useful for anything?

Like I said only a simple yes or no, thanks ;)

I've collected all 120 stars and unlocked Luigi. Took me a little over 17 hours.

Excellent 17 hours though. Nothing in the game feels stretched, no fillers, everything is of very high quality. Can't think of any other game that has maintained such a high level of quality in a game this long.

Whoa! I'm at 17 hours, and I only have 56 stars...you're FAST at playing games.

I want to say that I don't like the *minor spoilers about a mission* "Save Luigi" in the Honeyhive Galaxy mission. I cannot complete it. It's so frustrating, yet it should be so simple. Flying up to that pole at the beginning is frustrating, and then you have to fly up to that platform, then fly across to the other (which is very hard to get right) and THEN you need to fly to another platform, but I CANNOT do that. Mario just stops flying one second away from touching the ledge. I've died like 50 times. So frustrating, Bee Mario is really hard to control.

And, I also really hate the underwater stuff, it's pretty difficult to control it.

Otherwise, the game is still perfect. Gotta go!

*MAJOR SPOILERS*

P.S. when you unlock Luigi, can you still play as Mario? And is every level unlocked or do you need to play through all of the stuff again?

I'm amazed at how many interesting ideas are just kind of one offs. There's this great idea and perfectly polished unique controls to go with and then it gets used for one freakin' level? I have faith that all the R&D that went into this game is going to be used in at least a few more games down the line. PIKMIN!

Toy Galaxy = best world in the game so far. There were at least 5 different worlds where I said this before, so it might change again later.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

I got the 60 star completion after about 14 hours in the game. Going for 120 now, I'm currently up to 66.

My faves so far are Battlerock, Space Junk, Dreadnaught, and Toy. The spring Mario in Toy Galaxy was a bit annoying, but not overly so, and the rest of the awesomeness more than makes up for it.

Currently at 71 stars and 22 hours, I could have beat it but I haven't.

It's funny, Rosalina asked me "do you want to go see your special one in the center of the universe" before I had even been to the fifth grand galaxy (I'm doing the fifth grand galaxy now, Toy Time Galaxy is AWESOME, but Spring Mario SUCKS)

Also, did anyone else notice that the music in the Astral Observatory changes when you restore all of the power? It adds more instruments I think. I kinda prefer the previous music, but the song is still amazing.

The game is pretty hard at first before you get the hang of it, then you get used to it and WHAM you're doing great. I went back to some of the earliest galaxies and missions and I found them really easy, when I had tons of difficulty before.

Wow, so I've been playing this game the past few days and I have 26 stars and I must say this game is freaking awesome.

Usually when I'm playing a fun game I'm thinking hey, this game is fun, I really like it. With this game I keep thinking every other game for the past 25 years has just been a test to make this perfect game.

Yes the flowers do something.  Spoiler: Try shooting star bits at them.  A coin will pop-out.

I beat the game tonight with 120 stars.  Took me nearly exactly 20 hours total.

For what its worth, Ice Mario is by far my favorite as skating is awesome and the world where I first encountered him was incredibly fun the hidden star wiht the water falls.  I can't stand Bee Mario since he can't do any specials jump, particularly wall jumping.  Diving out of water like a dolphin with the spin attack is pretty awesome too, I just wish it was useful in some way : (.

Has anyone managed to beat a stage with a "high score" of over 100 coins?  I doubt anything happens other than another 1-up in game, but I'm curious.  The 100-coin stars were my favorite in Mario64 : (.   Just for nostalgia's sake I'd like to try to do it.  Any recommendations on a stage to try?
