Forums - Nintendo - Reggie disappointed that games like COD MW2, Assassin’s Creed arent on wii

Gamefreak isn't releasing anything next year. Their last game is coming out this December, and it's called PokePark Wii: Pikachu's big adventure.

Intelligent Systems is working on a WiiWare and a DSiWare project.

HAL isn't working on anything known at the moment. That Kirby game has been appearing since 2005, so you shouldn't be counting on it soon.

More than half of Nintendo's teams are working on unknown projects. It's true Nintendo can't keep their userbase satisfied by their own, but they have a lot of teams that have been doing nothing for the past 2 - 3 years.

It's Nintendos fault that they created a system that doesn't have draw for games such as COD MW2 and Assassins Creed. Even the marketing seems to be for games that have nothing to do with what COD MW2 and Assassins Creed. The Nintendo Wii has less demand for games like that than PC. Look at all the PC pirates and those combined with actual PC sales and you'll see that the PC guys deserve those games, despite the fact that a good number of them are thieves.

I dont want games like ass and cod on my Wii. The games are not worthy and good enough to be on a Nintendo system.

EXACTLY.

Nintendo has so many development resources that are completely under-utilized. What the hell is the deal? We can't rely on EAD alone to carry the entire company!

What is Brownie Brown doing?

What is SPD doing?

What is Sora Project doing?

What is Monolith Soft doing?

What is HAL labs doing (Where is our damn Kirby game??)

What is Retro Studios doing (We know they're working on something new...an update please?)

What is Intelligent Systems doing?

And WHAT THE HELL IS NST DOING?!?!

We have the power, money, and resources to completely be self-sustaining. The future of Nintendo lies in first and second party software diversification. We have to start coming up with new IPs that are compelling and possible future franchises. Look at all the awesome shit we had when Rare was second party. We need that again. Look, we haven't had any real third-party support since the SNES, so it's not gonna change now or even next generation. Nintendo themselves must take action to ensure there are no more extreme software shortages by utilizing what is already there.

That's my .02

Uh... no. Nintendo is doing just fine making family friendly games.

What the hell does my post have to do with making "family friendly games"? Pay attention.

Your response, "EXACTLY!"

You seem to think they should make games like AC and COD. Have you played those games? You think Nintendo want's to make games about assassin's and killing Nazis?

And you seem to make wild, ridiculous assumptions. My argument has repeatedly been about Nintendo making NEW IPs...LIKE Assasin's Creed and Call of Duty, not to make M rated games exactly like them. Feel free to continue to ignore my overall point about Nintendo making new IPs and utilizing their development studios, however.

They're utilizing them. They make very successful games and they don't flood the market with crap. That's the job of 3rd party support I guess.

Seems like you desire Nintendo to break away from what they typically do. I just don't see that ending well. Maybe they need some new studios.

HD is fine but only an add on for good games. And let’s face the facts, The best games on this console generation are on Wii. Yes there are successful games on the PS360, like Modern Warfare 2. But MW2 is far from beeing a good game as far as "2012" is from beeing a good film. The single player part of MW2 is like a rail shooter (but not as good as Dead Space: Extraction) with a dull and boring storyline and last only 4-5 hours. The MP-Part is okay, but nothing special.

Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Fire Emblem, Super Paper Mario, de Blob, Little Kings Story, Dead Space: Extraction, World of Goo, Twilight Princess etc. are the good games of this generation.

Whoa there.  Even in the best of terms, this post can only be seen as one thing.

Trying to defend Wii as having good games should not come at the expense of calling other companies games bad.  Modern Warfare and most of othe other popular games on the HD systems are fine, if not excellent games.  Trying to say they're bad just to try to say the games on Wii are better doesn't help, only adds one more voice that makes the 'opposite side' more angry.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

Oh, yea, well we might want to be intrested in playing average games, but Nintendo has a policy of keeping their in-house development of the highest quality, and DoC simply did not live up to that.

So only NoA checks for quality then? NCL and NoE are shovelware publishers?

Yea, because NCL and NoE had no worries about this game ...

Nintendo as a whole was iffy about the game.

Nah, otherwise they wouldn't have released in 2 regions. 1 would have been enough already. You need to stop trying to find excuses.

Nah, you need to actually know what you are talking about, before you open your mouth. I've seen you post, and know that I can forget about getting anything intelligent out of you, but Nintendo almost completely canceled the game because of its lack of quality, whether you like it or not.

And excuses for what? You need to stop living in your own little world, babbeling tres.

Well the fact is REAL gamers are coming back to the gaming world with the Wii and companies that produce games like the OP mentioned are being produced by a crowd who spent most of their teenage lives in the bedroom being a hermit and tugging to girlie pictures. I for one dont want these games on the Wii and why the Wii is so superior in poularity compared the the geeky twins
