for most devs creating games is an artform, and with the wii your.... limited.
sure its possible but why use ms paint when you have the entire adobe suite

Shows you, and any developer that thinks that, aren't an artist. Talent matters, not the tools. And in the end, it's often the smaller, quirky games that are considered closer to art, not the big games.

so youre going to slap ND in the face because Uncharted isnt small and quirky its not real art.

It's not art. It's an adventure game. It's entertaining according to those who play it, but it's not art.

so movies arent art either right? and neither are paintings, just merely entertaining to look at?

Twisting my words. I clearly commented, in a comment quoted in this train no less, that games can be art. You just mentioned the one game, and I respoded to that. So that question is false because it supposes a point I didn't make.

art by definition: the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way that appeals to the senses or emotions.

Being an artist myself am a little offended, Im making a point. All games in their own right is a work of art just some not as good as others, from the story of the Halo games to the visuals of uncharted to the music in Mario. And watching the interviews with how much time and energy is spent on something like theese its a little dissapointing.

1) There are a lot of conflicting definitions of art, and I didn't know you meant that one.

2) I find that one funny because that includes Michael Bay, as appealing to the senses and emotions is one thing that can't be denied about his movies. Suck on that, haters!

3) That still relies on talent. The tools are still in the Wii. If you need to use all of them at once, as on the HD systems, that's not artistic vision but ambition.

And the Wii is closer to Paint.net versus Photoshop. The PS1 is MS Paint. Although MS Paint art can still be impressive. Ever see the car drawing video? I can find the link if you want.

talent is a good part but i can paint a picture call it art and compare it to da vinci there will just be quality differences. and the wii could look good if it wanted to, ive also seen the ms paint mona lisa, it was crazy. it would just be a hell of a lot easier to use photoshop than well paint...

You're still claiming the Wii is like MS paint here. It's not.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Come to think of it, they made an assassins creed exclusive for PSP if i recall... hmmm... 3rd parties dislike the wii for the more "not-family-friendly" dont they?

I dunno, its weird, PSP can do games like Tekken 6 and the like wii should have not that much big of a deal doing it to, heh i belive this is what they call a "Stigma" if though wii has sold the most as a single console thus far, its family aimed audience has clearly taken its toll. just my humble opinion on the subject of course.

Reggie or anybody else need a tissue because if you dont like it buy a real consle and enjoy the games you get , there is only occasionally a good one for the wii.

I agree on this point. I mean, you would get at least as much out of making a Tekken for Wii as you would for PSP. If one other platform is notorious for bad third party sales it's PSP. There are these perceptions

and to the poster above me, what the hell is a real console?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I think the main reason Wii doesnt see these high profile multiplat games is 1. The gap in power between it and HD/PC combo is huge, extra effort has to be put into porting to it, and the final product will always be inferior in one way or another (visuals, atmosphere, scope) 2. The user base argument is weak considering PS3+360 (+PC too e.g RE5, AC, Bioshock) is greater than the Wii's, and devs can count on the "core" to purchase those games. 3. Wii is different, the controls, the audience, I feel devs dont want to waste time getting to know the Wii crowd when they can rely on the HD & PC crowd. Thats my theory.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

and they did make a ds assassins creed

I for one do not want any of those games on Wii I just love the way the Wii is kicking "hardcore" butt and watching the "hardcore" squirm around as they lose each battle and eventually the war

Of course, who in the world would want games like Gears of war, GOW3, Infamous, etc., when they can "play"???? wii cheer, wii fit, cooking momma cook off, etc? Such cool and Manly games, huh? I see it now, wii is the "REAL GAMERS" choice, and everything else is DOOMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol, u're just butthurt that a lot of devs are dissin' da wii, it so evident and clear that is not even funny. Pathetic......!

How old are you? 13?

Couldn't u really asked something more relevant, or interesting? How does ur question help this thread at all? Are u sure it doesn't derail it even more? No need 2 answer any of this, it's rhetorical. And btw, no, more like 22. I just don't care to "go there" if necessary to prove a point in particular (or at least try). It's not like I'm di only 1 here doing it, anyway.

Lol, and what if I was actually 13, huh?

I remember last generation when Namco released Soul Calibur II on the GameCube, and it sold 1.5 million copies; it was a hit, and not far off the 1.8M mark set by the PS2 version. With that success, a sequel should've been a no-brainer, but when Namco made Soul Calibur III, they dropped multiplatform support and went PS2 exclusive. I don't know exactly why Namco didn't put SCIII on the Cube, but if that's how they treat a system that was built to directly compete against the competition, why would Nintendo want to try and make the Wii more like the HD consoles.
